right, after 3 hours of tinkering i thought id post some questions.
basically i bought an aux in cable, finally fitted it today - one of the tabs in the vents you pull down was bent up so took a while. anyway all done but i thought whilst i was at it i would fill up the cd changer with a few discs, dont normally use cds as i have an iphone, but thought what the hell. basically the business cd headunit will control the changer fine, but i get no sound. also the aux in cable isnt working as expected, if i play a cd from the changer i can get the sound of my iphone via the aux in cable, but source only goes radio-cd-cd changer.
now to add to this my car does not have the original amp in the boot, and the small coaxial cable that should connect to the amp is disconnected as there is nothing on this current amp to plug it into, would i be right in thinking this would be the audio cable for the cd changer?
my next question is ive been hunting for a replacement bmw amp, would one from an x5 do?
im now toying with the idea of getting the audio system ripped out and replaced, as all i want is a nice simple system that will work, that i can integrate the iphone to easily and to have some sound from the 4 speakers behind the seat, i wont be doing this myself, id track down a local audio place i think.
