Cat Protection - River Challenge

Hi all.

A message from my wife (Cathy)

I am going to be canoeing down the Zambezi river for Cats Protection because I want to help raise vital funds for cats in care.

Two year old Billy was brought to Cats Protection in a terrible state. Billy had been shot with an airgun seven times in a cruel and vicious attack. He was then left alone, in agony, fighting for his life. Luckily a passer-by found Billy and rushed him to a local vet for emergency treatment. Once the vet had removed the pellets and stabilised Billy's condition, he was transferred to Cats Protection for ongoing treatment and care.

Billy's eyesight was severely affected by the attack. One eye had to be removed as it had been perforated by a pellet, while the other was so badly damaged that he can only see shadows through it. Understandably Billy was very nervous around people at first. But with a lot of time and care from our staff and volunteers at Cats Protection, Billy survived his ordeal and slowly began to trust again.

One of the staff who helped Billy was so fond of the little chap that she decided to adopt him when he was ready to leave Cats Protection. You will be pleased to hear that Billy is now thoroughly enjoying his new life in a safe and loving home.

We can only help cats like Billy with your support.

Can we sponsor you direct or just donate to the charity?
If you can post a link I'll donate, well done you Cathy

Done and glad to help  I prefer cats to people!!
Jayne's already getting friends on FB saying they'll donate.

If anyone hurt my baby i'd kill 'em

Glad Billy's on the mend.

I'd play with your pussy anyday Lux

On topic, I already give £15 a month to this wonderful cause!

I am more a dog man, but without cats the world would be a sadder place so bunged a couple of quid for such an epic journey. Is Cathy aware how big the Zambezi is and where it is?! Its not in Scotland!! Really best of luck with this one.

Cathy knows it's not a easy challenge, she has done a few trips to the masai mara in Kenya (which is vast, but I'm sure there will be no luxury tents on this trip)

I absolute admire my wife doing this, she has a soft spot of cats (We have 5). Sadly we lost our beautiful Barney & Pebbles to heart conditions, which inspired Cathy to leave her highly paid job within the pharmaceutical industry to work with cats at the royal vet college & now at cats protection in haywards heath (next to Munich legends)

Money doesn't make the work go around, people like Cathy do....

That's a beautiful cat... Thank you Steve & Jayne for your donation much appreciated!

One of ours (Pheobe) she is a very small girl who has only 3 legs but you wouldn't know as she runs as fast as the rest of them :)
