Cat Detterent!

The next doors cat has suddenly decided to start doing this on my Z4!! Just in time for me to get my new one!! Being black, if it scratches that bonnet it will be "missing in action"!!, even though I myself love cats!!

I notice in Homebase you can get a cat/dog deterrent box. Emits a high pitched ultrasonic sound and is activated by a movement sensor. I may try one of those! £29 is cheaper than a re-spray!

Yes that is the problem. Hopefully that deterrent will stop it before it reaches the car!!

Must admit, there were no sign of scratches on the car after.

They sell a Scat Mat in the States that emits a small electrical current through it when the cat walks on it. The current is very mild and does not hurt the cat at all, but they get the point quickly. My cat loved my coffee table until I put the mat on it one night and he got the idea. Now even though the mat is off, he has not gotten back on the table. This is a totally humane method to deter a cat. They should sell one in pet stores over there and I believe it was about $30.00.

He's been on my bonnet loads of times and i have checked for scratches, and there are none! It seems as though he's very careful so i just leave him to it

That is a careful considerate cat.

I used to have one that would jump on a soft leather sofa but never scratch it. Another had been trained not to walk on carpet (too much hassle removing the cat hair).

How about waiting for the pesky bugger and hitting them with this :

I carry one behind the seat, for erm.... amusement ?

Now the weathers getting colder I now have two cats that like to keep warm on my car, both at the same time :headbang:.

The one sitting on the bonnet really takes the piss, I filled up the screen wash today so I went in to get some more water and come out to find him sitting on the engine.

The best cat deterrent you can buy is one of these:

I got mine free with only 14 months on the clock. Never raced or rallied, with one careful owner.
They're available in a wide choice of colours and stylings.
Maintenence and running costs are pretty low and they do provide years of fun.
They're Eco-friendly and have a variety of functions.

With a bit of practice, you can also utilise them for household cleaning tasks.

Pound for pound, a good, reliable purchase.

LOL, thats a good idea. Only one problem the cat sitting on the roof is mine  . Don't think he will be to impressed with a new friend.

 maybe not. still, it'd get you £250 from you've been framed...

I had the same thing, as soon as I started storing the car with a car cover on it no more cat naps. Good luck.
