What sort of condition is everyone taking their car in? I'm aiming to give mine a quick wash this week but I'm not digging out the toothbrush :P unfortunately owing to various dull but expensive items coming out of the budget this month I've had to skip the eibach springs and refurbing on the wheels. Please forgive my less than 1st class entry... :D
 
I'll probably wash mine on Friday, but I do have a decent bit of driving.

Are we meeting at the track or somewhere else?

Oh and what time?
 
Mine's not looking too bad. It'll get a quick wash before I leave, but imagine it'll be covered in bugs by the time i get to Coombe if the weather is nice!

i also have 1 track session for 9:45 available - £25

show cars will be clean but i expect most of the track cars to be pretty filthy. i'll give mine a quick going over on friday.

if anyone wants my mobile number then please drop me a PM, if you miss the meeting point at morrisons you will need to contact me so i can meet you at the gate to give your entry pass.

the last track session is at 5:00pm but people usually start to make a move from about 3:30. you are free to leave whenever though.

i dunno about decent, but reasonable, there is a Premier Inn opposite Morrisons :)

Hey thanks, found out there is a base about 30 minutes away, so I will probably stay there. Any kind of nightlife near the track (might even hit up Bath) as I'm thinking about knocking back a pint or six saturday night. No driving though, hmm maybe I will get a hotel closer

well the nearest town is Chippenham but i have no idea what the nighlife is like, quite quiet i imagen.

if you are looking to go out saturday night then stay in bristol, its not a far drive and the nightlife is second to none, i may even pop out for a few with you :)

Guess where I was this morning parked up in morrisons car park waiting for you all to turn up , first I thought wrong morrisons , then I thought must be to early , as time went on mayby too late . no wrong on three counts I got the wrong frigging day :oops: so up at 5.30 this morning drove all the way to chippenham then to the circut to be told by the guy on the gate that was yesterday , I was really looking forward to this and I am sitting at the gate feeling like a rite tit oh well there is allways next year :headbang:
 
Oh dear! Well it was a great day, thanks Ry for arranging. Hopefully we can improve turn out for the next one - September time right? I seem to have just about got away with no sunburn but it was a close thing. Great to see the zed on track and a real mixed bag of motors tearing around. Maybe by September I might have something to run myself :thumbsup:

Aebous and me went for lunch at a pub down the road, I drove back past the track on the way to Bristol - even from the main road, the smell of rubber was quite intense.

I've only got about 400 pics and 4 or 5 vids. Sorting that will be a long time in coming.
I had a blast, it was great meeting/seeing everyone again or for the first time. i can't wait for the next event! Perhaps next time I'll race!

Hi Guys, only just got back to mine as i went to the girlfriends yesterday.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend, despite the dismal numbers it was still a good day :)

if there is enough interest i will put an application in for us to attend the September action day

I wasnt intending to take the Z4 on the track atall but i ended up having 2 track sessions in my hand and not really enough time to sell them on so thought i should make use of them. As i said on the day, the Z4 really isnt a point & squirt type of track car, it takes alot of concentration and constant steering/throttle adjustments to battle with the understeer & oversteer in an single corner. the brakes are just unbelievable, i overestimated them, i knew they wernt great but i didnt realise they were so bad, despite braking earlier then usual i still managed to go into a corner too fast and came out of it on the grass.

i can see the appeal to driving a RWD car on the track, its obviously more challenging, but the Zed as standard just doesnt have what it takes IMO. That said, i still ran rings around most of the cars out in the sessions :D

I may be interested in September too... would be great if we could get enough interest for a Z4 track group :) Saw a Saab group out there who looked like they were having fun.
