I have. Although I don't want a shiny carbon look. The carbon leather is what I really want, that matte finish with a slight soft touch. I've been looking for a while in the usual places but thought I'd ask here before getting abused by BMW  :lol:SiJar said:You could still buy them from the dealers last year but not cheap. Have you thought about good alternatives such as hydro dipping etc which looks very good for £140 compared to approx £900 for the real thing?
This is my reserve option. I have black interior and brushed alu trims. If I can't get carbon leather and don't decide to be violated by BMW directly, I may well consider this. What sort of condition is it? I'm wary the gloss finish gets scratched easy, and I'm not interested in looking at damaged trims inside. There's a set on ebay with a big chunk out the passengers side for about £110 or so. That sort of price is appealing when considering the cost of carbon leather trims. But not for damaged goods.Simon 3.2M said:Best I’ve got is a set of piano black trim.
I've seen these but don't fancy the gluing. Never get a great finish and I'm a stickler for clean edges.srhutch said:If you’re up for a bit of diy you can buy leather panels on eBay ready cut/sewn for the E85/6 dash and centre console in black leather.
SiJar said:You can have a hydro dipped finished in Matt which is what I had done and in my view is better than gloss. Like you I wanted the OEM look but couldn’t find a mint condition set and wasn’t prepared to buy new. I think it’s a good compromise especially as I had a wood interior in an M car which did not look good.
They normally paint items first before hydrodipping so would iron out the grain.joe85 said:SiJar said:You can have a hydro dipped finished in Matt which is what I had done and in my view is better than gloss. Do you have any pics of this? I wasn't aware of a matte finish. Always see hydro dips come out shiny. Any recommendations for places too? The brushed alu might not take well to dipping though? As there's a slight grain to the metal.
No idea why wood trim was even an option.
Ah OK. Thanks.Nictrix said:They normally paint items first before hydrodipping so would iron out the grain.

I've just seen your e89 trim sale thread and posted there. But just in case, I'll reply again here, I'd definitely be up for that matte finish. Is this something you could do?
