One item I need to move to complete my exhaust project is the carbon filter/tank ventilation unit. Took it all off this morning and have it lying on the bench ready to go back later.
Once the new back boxes are on I will be able to relocate it in a large void in the centre between the 2 backboxes, currently part occupied by the single large back box.
The canister has 3 pipes marked 'Tank' 'Air' and 'Purge'.
'Air' does that and vents to air up inside the wing.
'Tank' goes to the top of the petrol tank and 'purge' feeds all the way to the manifold area. so assume it's a vacuum.
So my question is while I do the swap and drive around for a week or so, what are thoughts on leaving the 'tank' open to air (perhaps part restricted, but to allow the tank to breath)
Plug the 'purge' line and remove the 'air' pipe (which is just a lenght of tube now)
Can anyone see any issues with doing this?
