Wished BMW had stuck with a retractable hardtop like the MX5rf.
Think you have to accept if looking secondhand most won't have been driven with kid gloves but then would you want one that's spend its life in 20mph zones going to the shops![]()

Problem with Porches, definitely Cayman, is specification… You’re probably aware, but almost everything is ‘extra’.
Finding a car to meet my criteria is a challenge.
I've been looking at 3 to 4 year old Boxsters and some Caymans but I think it's more what I could get in my price range rather than spec :?
Noticed though that similar age Caymans to Boxsters going by photos admittedly, Caymans don't seem to have been as well looked after for some reason.

That is just ridiculous for one wheel. I don't care what it is, or what it's made from, that is an absolute rip-off.pvr said:it was a brand new wheel at £3500 +VAT

Why not get the Mx5RF. Better looking, imho and easily quick enough to entertain and keep pace.![]()

Yes I might revisit an RF. I did spec one up 12 months ago but ended up with the i20N as was undecided. Think I find the small looks on the road a little off putting. Neighbour has just bought a 2 year old sel soft top in the crystal blue and it does look nice. Problem is there's nothing out there similar to the RF with a manual box![]()

I had the Mk III MX5 before my E89. I hated the electric steering in the Mk IV.buzyg said:The steering and gearbox on the mk4 mx5 are just spot on. I do wish it was just a tiny bit bigger, as I am 6 4" and the engine is a bit agricultural. But after the S54 most are.
Yes it does seem a bit bizarre. Don’t buy a car make that gets chased by a police van. Sounds like voodoo to me.Pondrew said:I have read this thread many times now and I really don't understand the correlation between a Porker being chased by a Police van and not wanting to buy a similar Porker. :?
From the logic, maybe a van would be a good shout? :?

We also have a Mk3.75 tin top at the moment. I'm not a huge fan of that one. A bit slow witten vs the Mk4. Loved the Mk2s though But MrsG loves the colour and the tail lights on the Mk3. So it's a keeper.DonDon said:I had the Mk III MX5 before my E89. I hated the electric steering in the Mk IV.buzyg said:The steering and gearbox on the mk4 mx5 are just spot on. If Mazda had made it Z3 size I reckon it would be spot on. But I can talk as I really like these and quite tempted. About as small as you can get

Honda do make some very reliable lawnmowers to be fair, it’s cool that they’ve designed that one to look like a ride-on car![]()
