Could anyone local to me, Woking area, give me a ride in their Z4 convertible. I'm serious about buying one but I would like to experience what they're like. I'd order for a forum member to show me rather than a BMW dealer.would be good to have a chat to someone who has owned one and not trying to sell me the car like the dealer would be.

If you want to come up to Glasgow I'll be more than happy to take you for a blast on some B roads :D

I can't convince any of my family members to get in the car with me anymore for some reason.

I'd also be interested in the same as OP, but I'm up north in the lake district. BMW Batemans have offered me a test drive if/when they get a used one in, but would be nice as the OP described. It's the 2.5 I'm looking at, but dunno if there's many owners about near me so can't be picky.

Apologies to hijack.

I work in Bracknell and would be happy to take you/somebody else on here for a spin and share my ownership experiences

Are you saying that you are the fella in that M3 video? :poke: In which case. I wouldn't blame them for running away. :D

No offence to the OP as he/she is probably 99% genuine, but I would take caution to anyone who's offering a ride to him/her.

I was thinking the same. you have to be very carefull.

Ermmmm on a friday saturday night I was looking to be apassenger test drive from my house to the city center
Also at about 3am as I was wondering whether to do a passenger test drive home so I would know whether its safe for me to take drunk passengers in mine :poke:
(Joking btw unless people arer offering free taxi's lol)

I suppose I can't convince anyone that I'm not a terrorist, at least until you meet me. I'm a true car fanatic though, I assure anyone that I'm not looking to steal your car or damage it or you in any way. I'm a big member on seatcupra.net (same username) if anyone wants any proof of me :)

I'd just like to get a feel for these cars before I buy one, thought this was the best place to start really....

Don't want to go and be a tyre kicker, jump in someones Z4 for sale and have no interest in buying it. I also thought that someone who isn't selling their car could actually show me how it handles/ drives without worrying that I might be put of buying it because it's being driven in a spirited manor.

Buy mine, not grey but she's lovely and a much rarer colour :)

Well let me know if you change your mind, she's had the roof motor done so that's one big expense out of the way, plus all the bushes are poly now and the springs have been replaced too

Interesting point about being cautious. I didn't even think about it until Peddy mentioed it, but it's obvious really. Such a shame that you must think of things like that when the OP does seem to be a genuinely good guy (not wanting to waste sellers time etc).

Joe, I hope you get a ride in one, these cars have their good and bad points but if you like spirited driving you can't go far wrong.

Worth taking a look at Blue's car as well... I've seen it (I bought his winter wheels) and it's a lovely looking car!

if your in london ill take you for a ride. i have a 3.0i, with a gruppe M, eisenmann race exhaust, poly bush's, CSL's, rogue eng trans and engine mounts, eibach springs, strut brace, carbon leather interior, EBC pads and discs all round, new wishbones, braided brake lines with Motul 5.1 etc etc etc

no its not for sale, but the noise will make you want one.

Couldn't agree with you more, but unfortunately there's the few people that have made the rest paranoid. :(

Sadly I'm a lot older than him. However, I must be a better driver as I'm still alive

+1 sad but it's the way the world is.

I know a guy who had a Saab 9-3 Aero when they first came out, one night whilst watching TV with his wife and kids there was a knock at the door, he answered it and was met by two men who simply said "Give us the keys to that" and nodded at his nice new car, he looked at them with a "WTF" expression, it was at this point one of the guys pulled his jacket open to reveal a gun tucked in his trousers! :o

Never did get the car back and never bought a fancy car again!

Ouch I can see your concerns :( as said though if there are any concerns with me feel free to check linkedin/ facebook and seatcupra.net for anything suspicious :)
