Camber adjustment

Another way to change the camber is to add spacers ie 1mm washers between the strut arm and the hub casting.

I think Turner motorsport in the USA sell them as a kit a few washers and 4 new slightly longer bolts for a good mark up on bolts from a bolt supplier

Bolt spec is high tensile 10.9 and BZP coating and can be had for pennies from the internet

You just need to run a tap through the threaded hole to allow the longer bolt to run in freely as standard bolts do not go all the way through.

Ive been thinking about doing this. Please let us know of you can tell any difference in front end understeer.
Also,
1. Can you not reuse the original bolts?
2. What size of bolts are the new ones? Length and thread size?
3. What is the tightening torque?
4. Did you already remove the top strut alignment pins to allow for added camber?

1 yes you can reuse the original bolts but there is 1 or 2 mm less thread in the hole, I used slightly longer bolts

2 The bolts are standard 12mm bolt thread but use 10.9 spec length you would need to remove one and measure it as my car is 120 miles from me at the moment

3 Torque settings can be found on the internet or do them up tight

4 Top pina are still in but cut down in height to allow for the strut brace up fit

If your alignment garage is friendly you can add washers and take readings for 1 then 2 then3 then 4 washers and note what difference it makes to the other settings it would be good info for all of us

It is also possible to do the washer fitting at home so you can experiment with the settings to see how you like the chamber change then go back for an alignment check to make sure everything else is how you want it

unless your going pretty darn hard at the track, a delta change of .5 to 1 degree you would be hard pressed to be able to tell the diff on any public road. 2 washers max, or the top bung will be out of its socket. Not that it would matter for on the road, but just something to bear in mind.
