Calling at Z4C (AUTO) drivers

Did a search and noticed there wasn't any definitive list of who drives an Auto Z4c (or Z4r for that matter) - thought I'd start a thread to group us together somewhere. There's nowhere near as many z4c's in auto around the UK compared to manuals, so expecting only a few responses!

Quick intro on me and the auto:

Car bought: July 2012
Model: Z4c 3.0si sport 56' plate
Miles: 26.6k
Color: Grey
Wheels: 135's
Location: London/Surrey

you are not alone my friend :) 56 Z4c SI sport / lancs
the auto gearbox was the deciding factor in me not going for the M version :x
after many performance cars with tip boxes i made a big mistake in listening to the " if its not manual you aren't connected to the car " brigade & bought a 6 speed 996 :?
the car looked stunning & in full flight yeah it was great but the other 90% of the time was a complete nuisance changing gear & it lasted 2 months . never again .

Wilks - I had to make the same decision. The auto box will always be better at finding the right gear whenever you feel like stomping your foot down and just going for it.. Would have had the M is it were auto! Got a bigger pic of your car on here?

Taz - always thought yours was a manual for some reason. Good to know theres a few autos floating about.

2007 Z4C Auto - wanted the auto specifically as I dont do much long distance driving and live in West London..
The manual box seemed rather notchy to me and the auto is smooth

Car bought: Feb 2012
Model: Z4c 3.0si sport 07' plate
Miles: 35k
Color: Carbon Black
Wheels: 108's
Location: West London - Isleworth

My coupe is an auto and the first auto i've owned and really impresed with it.
Bought the car because it had the paddle shifters but to be honest i hardly ever use them just stick it in to drive and of i go :driving:

My 2nd auto after my E24 635CSi Highline I think that certainly went a long way to convincing me what a great drive auto's can be!

Mines an auto coupe. Have various nerve issues in my left leg so a heavy clutch was out of the question when I bought it. Having auto meant I wanted to have the paddles though. In traffic or your average boring commute I love the laziness of auto. There's times you can't beat manual (ie snow & ice) but for the rest of the time I no longer see the point in a manual box & clutch. It's converted me!
07 plate, Sport auto, 135Ms, Sapphire Black.

Auto for me. Love the paddles when I'm in the mood and can't beat the convenience of the incredibly smooth changes for every day driving.

Another auto here - never bought an auto before and will not be going back to manual!!

Car bought: Feb 2012
Model: Z4C 3.0si Sport 57' plate
Miles: 60k
Color: Silver Grey with red leather
Wheels: 108s in grey
Location: West Yorkshire

Having bought an E89 with Auto/paddles, and then joining this forum, I fell in love with the shape of the Coupe.
Tried the ///M and being 6ft4 decided on the Auto.
I was then lucky enough to find a fully loaded, 1 owner with only 15K miles on it - easy decision!

Car bought: May 2012
Model: Z4C 3.0si Sport 07' plate
Miles: 18K
Color: Titanium Silver with black leather
Wheels: Two tone 108s or 296's(off my E89)
Location: South Hants

did you did the e89 then? us that it in tour display pics? I too love the e86 over e89.. the shapes awesome (the coupe that is)

Auto too. Test drove a manual and it was fine but all the reports of rattling and CDV issues put be off.

I stick in drive around town and put in manual\sport for motorways.
