Kinda harks back to a thread a few ppl had a little cry on regarding this forum not being car related enough...
This forum does a lot better than others because of the fact ppl do talk about off topic things....i think just about everythings been discussed on here, if we chatted about run flat tyres, roof motor issues, broken springs and the ///m's clunky gearbox AAAALLLL day long i think it would get very boring after a while and def not as popular
The fact remains tht if ppl had a genuine question or issue be it car or not car related then a lot of ppl here would be there to assist, which is all tht matters
Still need more bloody women on here though!!! :headbang: :headbang:

Sorry rubes,caro and sars

I agree although I have noticed a slight change in the vibe over the past 6 months or so. I have been on a lot less frequently due to a number of non-forum related reasons but every time I pop on I feel as if there is more and more in the way of arsehole posts which just put me off (the guy trying to justify parking his zed in disabled spots to prevent door dings being a prime example).

On the whole, I think the forum is still filled with lots of friendly, helpful individuals. I hope it stays that way and the few don't ruin it for the many.

you get these people in life and you have to tolerate them because they make life interesting, they may think they are better than everyone else and that some rules don't apply to them, but we are all just sheep, it is just a matter or perspective

I've been site admin on one of the largest 206 sites in the world for a few years, I had a 206 almost 6 years ago now. That site has changed dramatically in the last few years, but you just have to adapt to the change and get on with it.

In the end you stick with it because your friends are there, not just because you have that car. I've never understood people who leave car forums because they don't have that car any more. To me it just shows they really were there only for the help/information on the car, not for the people (friends) they (could have) made.

Forum members, along with the vibe, change on a fairly regular basis. A lot of the members that CJ listed left because they were getting bashed for only participating in banter in the OT sections, and not contributing any useful posts.
As was stated previously,,,some of us that have been here a long time get tired of the Stubby/Halo/Wheels/BT questions that have been answered over and over, so OT is the only area that is actually of any interest anymore.

Bit unfair to say that's why they were being bashed. Mostly it was them constantly setting up "the one word thread" followed by the "one letter thread", the "lets see if we can shut the forum down by posting porn thread". I think people on here would be happy to see people just using the off topic areas, but people get irritated by childish topics (e.g. One letter thread)

Very true,,,had kind of forgotten about that part of it :D

Old age affects the memory! I remember now that we put a damper on the flagrant post count boosting threads.

Yes there was a time when you logged on to find all new threads were lounge and nothing to do with Z4's

A shame they all took their toys away but it did get out of hand.

I guess Nosa's is down the the gun thread. Again a shame but if thats the way he wants it, it his loss. :(

Just to let you guys know, I'm with Nosa at the moment having a few drinks. Happy to say he's ok - just had enough of the forum.

In answer to your questions: his account has been deleted (due to the number of PMs he was getting) and he doesn't have another account.

In Nosa's words - people move on and he wishes you all the best and happy new year.

woots dont you think its time to let sleeping dogs lie ,it doesnt help keep going on about it and than moving it on to another post all together about a totally different subject,i feel as others have quite rightly said every one has there own opinion and a right to it and from both sides of the fence: Speeking personal on my behalf and not others , the reason i quoted what i said was not the fact i dislike off topic subjects far from it but i just dont feel there is a need to put everything in a poll ,group lable as such .Especially to choise your faverot member. This may of come across all wrong
For EG, lets say if no one voted for carol would anyone give any thought to how that might of felt for her , iam sure it wouldnt of happened and may have not bothered her to much but whos to know and this could be the same for anyone els on that list.
A few members exspressed a different opinion and got shot down and with some distastfull langage to i might add woots which i thought amounted to name calling which was a shame,(PS i have a father in wed lock when i was born, well that what i was told anyway  ) i have and always will respect your self and others opinion on here and i would hope people would respect mine even if there dont agree with them. A little cry maybe but certanly not the 14 pages after that and another thread . so maybe not such a big cry after all . It was certainly quite hard not to post any more when others where putting the boot in and i only revisited when the subject got light harted towards the end to fly the flag of peace .I totally agree with your comment thats why i still return every day and more than the wife would like , so to sum up iam reaching out the hand of peace and wish you a happy new year in this difficult time. and sorry for the highjack thread

A few bullshitters, a few arseholes, the odd windup merchant...

But on the whole I love coming to the forum and reading everyone's posts. So does everyone else looking at the bloated size of this thread

People move on (I wish this thread would...)

C'est la vie
