bye bye 997.1 gt3 cs hello z4mc

had it 5 years put about 2k miles on it. my boys are getting older and i want to spend more time doing stuff with them and we are all into bikes so plan is to free up funds from the sale and direct towards buying a van and an mx bike and having a big slush fund for bike related stuff

ive always had a pork of some description but it was too much of a trophy whereas now i need something i can use and abuse in anger if i choose to without feeling bad if i bend or break it

i may choose to get another pork next year alongside the z4mc but the 997 gt3 is a special thing and i expect i will buy mine back or something similar at some point within 5 years
I'm sure they're not quite gt3 levels of excitement but a few choice upgrades and the mc can be quite a hoot on road and track if so desired :)

Off topic slightly... I suspect the gt3 is by far the better road car in standard trims. As a track car the difference is marginal, you'll have a lot of fun in both, but the z4 has to be modified, the GT product just works otb of course. I spend a fair amount of time driving my friend's 997.1gt3rs on track. It's a fabulous thing, but, so is the Z4 in the spec I have it, and I know he would agree. The laptime performance is remarkably similar, yes the rs is faster, but it's way closer than I ever might have thought. Would I pay even twice the money for the RS on experience alone, no, the fact that it's probably 6x the value is faintly ludicrous really if it's to buy a thing you actually want to use.
To the OP, enjoy your S54 in good health and release some $ for other fun stuff, makes a lot of sense. Not before you've slung a CSL airbox at it mind:)

Def the gt3
The zed is plush by comparison
I dont get the talk about ride being firm or crashy with standard set up
thanks for the info i have macan ice gen3 and z4 e89 i am considering to swap z4 with 997 or 991 as z4 is too bumpy for me, i will avoid gt cars then
