Buying an Aston Martin DB9

DB9 sounds like a good choice.

Or maybe an SL55 AMG or something like that? Mercedes, but the nicer ones (ie, no cheap ones)

I think the DB9 will hold it's value best over the longer term, and be more fun to own all said and done :D

LOL... cj10jeeper is a mod, and I imagine his finger is hovering over the "ban" button for the next person to suggest a Mercedes!! LOL

Herminator - I love the big 'ol 850's but I'm not looking for an old classic, perhaps a new potential classic.

Right you and others have convinced me to hunt down a couple of big Mercs to take a look at. Love the knowledge that enthusiasts forums have

As always with me on hold for a few days though as I have to get to the City tonight, then Paris for a couple of days work (gotta pay for these toys somehow)

Think I might be able to detour to a few dealers en-route to Heathrow though :)

I am in Paris as well, coffee on you this time? :D

Nice AM shot btw to keep on topic :)

Disagree with you there: when I think of AM I think of 007

But agree with you on 911's: I was in Porsche heaven yesterday (Museum, what a place). I'd need a major Euromillions win to buy all of the 911's I saw and immediately wanted...

DB9 having a facelift next year, it's going to knock residuals a little.....

I just think it's too old in the tooth....for the same I'd rather buy a Mercedes 280SL Pagoda....which is as classy as can be. For a modern car, the DB9 tech is now more than 7 years old.....

Now I end up defending the Aston, which is not the plan I've now seen 2 main dealers and decided they look simply stunning and oh so fresh. Non warranty repairs are perhaps the big question.

Still, aat outside a bar in Paris watching life that's another day's worry.

I agree. Absolutely stunning looking. :) Great choice, I say! I wonder what mode you'll want to do yourself :poke:
