Buying a Z4M

That's a lovely looking car. I'd wager that you could buy that now and run it for 3 years and add 20k miles and you'll get back what you pay for it today.

At least it appears to have had the oil changed every two years, which is good. I’d get an inspection 1 done - including valve clearances, as it should - for piece of mind.

FWIW that’s pretty much what I paid for mine over 4 years ago with 24k on the clock. Though PVR will tell you I stole it from him at that price

this is what i am working with. So get an Insp1 done? Its done 8k miles in 6 years.

What date is the oil service at Bavaria Stockholm?

It looks like July 2013?

But the following service was done on Feb 2012...

Furthermore why was the car serviced in Sweden? 👀

Google says sweden write dates YYYY/MM/DD

Fair enough that answers question 1.

However it might be worth asking the owner why it was serviced over there...

That’s a looooong drive.

Yeah, but PVR did keep about half the car and sell the parts to other people...

Didn’t know Red was rare,

It isn't 8) about the same as ti silver  if you want rare in ZMs then space grey , py , white or midnight/monaco blue are the ones

As long as it's had good oil I wouldn't worry massively personally. I changed my coolant last weeek when I changed the thermostat as a precautionary measure. Gearbox and diff oil isn't desperate with the miles it's covered - but it would be wise due to time. Valve clearances again would need doing, but the car can be driven beforehand. Other than dropping the oil there's nothing that gives major cause for concern. They are all things that can be done in time and can be used to drive the price down 😊

Another pay would’ve bin nice,I think if you like that car and all seems ok then go for it but if it’s an imolla Red you really want then hold out for one

Don’t see much mention of whether garaged.

As cars start to age, this becomes more critical, not necessarily for the bodywork although certainly helps, but rather all the electrical connections you can’t see which slowly start to corrode.

I’ve found the best place to look are the bulb terminals in the rear light cluster - ie the part of the car that’s furthest away from any warmth - I’ve seen from almost new condition to one which was almost falling apart...

I know - that still annoys me when I remember, just a little

12yr old & never had ins2 :? not exactly been pampered by its 2 owners as it :(

Doesn't the Z4M use a version of BMW's CBS (Condition Based Servicing) which is not mileage or time related, but based on usage?
