Ok, im 59 and retired, for 44 yrs i have been a mechanic working on HGV's, Excavators, Lift Trucks.
The only money which was paid into my pension came out of my pocket.
I decided to retire early because i no longer wanted to pay tax to fund benefit fraud, dole walla's (genuine cases not included) and final salary pensions.
Things will be a little tight till im 65 and i get my pension but im enjoying everyday with the missis doing exactly what we want.
No dick swinging here and am i the only member of this forum who is'nt a manager? :poke:

It's definitely going in that direction, but the might of Pearson (£8bn +) would perhaps demand a far larger/skilled resource than what we can offer.

We've been owned by education companies for 5years(via acquisitions). So far, no change in operations, just inconvenience - being told how to run our business by somebody that doesn't understand the industry or what drives it.

Don't get me started Bing, otherwise we'll have to rename this thread;)
It's a soft spot at the moment

I'm not a manager, but I will get a final salary pension unless the government has it's way and deprives me of the only perk of working for the NHS. If it's any consolation to you though, after 6 years of 40 hours a week at uni, and 10 years of postgraduate training I'm still paid only £8.24 per hour when I'm on call so my final salary won't be very much!
