I work for Ricardo UK, who are generally make and improve bits that go in cars. Probably best known recently from helping McLaren make the engine in the MP4-12C.
I'm an embedded software engineer, usually developing low level software drivers & diagnostics for specific chips and platforms - generally creating an interface between real world signals and the mathematical models that are churning away making the decisions.
 
I do nothing except attend a board meeting once a month at our group HQ :)
 
Forgot to mention earlier, semi-retirement shortly to end as I'm looking for a contract somewhere so I can recover the money that my wife nicked from my redundancy fund to put into this.... www.dramatic-jewels.com :( :( :(
 
I own a company which specialise in developing automated text and voice telephone services, such as competitions, information lines etc. we also handle payments via premium rate and credit card. I'm also involved in a parking payments company called parkbytext, currently running in all the Irish Rail car parks here in Ireland, soon rolling out to some test sites in Northern Ireland and the UK.
