BST airbag light DS B pillar module

Has anyone had a drivers side B pillar module go bad? (2003 3.0i)

Mine is showing an error for the BST battery monitoring, 98F2. I've checked the cabling and can't see a short. I've tried a 2.2ohm resistor on the yellow connector by the battery but it doesn't seem to show any reading.

Detonation Circuit 6 is showing Resistor of detonation pill after last power on reset still not measured.

Pin 9 and 10 on the module show an increasing resistance up to 10k ohm like a cap is being charged.

Not sure what else to try. The small monitoring unit for the mat on the other module went bad so I've coded that out. This airbag light is going to write off the car.

A quick search on here will answer your question. They are increasingly common failures.
Luckily SBSR are easier to find than SBSL.
Get the part number off it and plug that in to Realoem to find compatible numbers. I have a fair stock of the SBSR, but away in Grenada until 7/10.

I had the airbag light come on after going over a speed bump, I hadn't noticed.
Disconnected the battery for a few hours, removed the pillar module, a really easy job, cleaned it all, although to be fair it was only a bit dusty, reconnected module, reconnected battery and then cleared fault. Seems to remember clearing two sets of codes.
Airbag light hasn't come back on for a number of months now .
Might be worth a try.

I've tried everything :headbang:. The module doesn't seem to be reading anything for the BST. In INPA detonation circuit 6 is reading nothing during startup. DIS is saying to replace the module.

Pay attention to the WinKFP daten files import PDF, it contains a final step of copying files manually which are the key to getting it to actually communicate with the module.
