Mine just failed it's MOT with a snapped NSR spring. With 86k on the clock, I guess it's gone further than most, but from the look of the spring it's been gone for a long time (I suspect they just didn't notice at the last MOT).
Not been affected yet, but got talking to a visiting rep in the car park at work today. He was driving a tidy 2,5 roadster, 05 I think. Any way turns out he replaced his rear springs last weekend after one broke. Sugested it was a simple job. Though he may have a different take on simple to me.
Replaced all my suspension with Gaz coilovers this weekend, found both rear springs were broken at the base. Squeeking has now gone, and car sits straight and no longer pulls to the left!
Mine just failed its MOT; NSR Coil spring cracked, front to rear and rear brake pipes excessively corroded both sides. Quote to repair at local garage, 355 quid plus vat
Not really sure if its a good price but booked her in for Thursday anyhow
Scorcher,
Thanks for the 'heads up' but despite the cost I'm going for the quick and easy fix and getting the garage to sort it. Time is one luxury I am short of, I would rather be driving the car than fixing it if you know what I mean. Cheers anyhow
My Z4 failed its MOT over the weekend due to a cracked rear passenger side spring. Decided to have both rear springs replaced at 340 quid inc VAT. Not bad for London I thought.
My car has done 55,000. I blame some appalling roads down in South East London which I have to regularly use, where pot holes are, at times, unavoidable.
