Me to, at its last MOT in November at 62K miles
Quite hard to visually check the rears as they usually snap towards the bottom of the spring where it seats onto the wishbone. More easily felt if you run your hand around the spring cup where it sits, and you should feel whether the spring is intact or not.doofus4000 said:how are you all finding the broken springs - like are you looking up into the wheel arch and looking for a cracked spring or can you only see it when the car is on a lift and the spring is fully extended?

I had my Z4 independently inspected before buying it (privately) and the inspector called the seller and me over while the car was on the ramp - asked us to feel the bottom of the spring and found the sharp edges...
That's what I was told by Battersea BMW they replaced both at no charge including the mountsD6GMB said:Just found my drivers side spring is broken.Been to the dealers and only prepared to replace the broken spring. Is it not the rule that they are replaced in a pair??.
