Broken Springs - List (add yourself if you've been affected)

And a new member of the club joins in !

2003 2.5i, with 94.000 km (around 58.000 miles) on the clock.
Rear left spring (driver side on my LSD car :D) broken, near the base.

Just replaced my wheels and found two broken springs. looks like they've been broken for a long time but the previous owner must not have noticed :(

2005 with 45k on the clock

When i was looking through the history on mine (35k) its had both rear springs done already :o 2004 plate

Yep, both rears bust. BMW just quoted me £180 plus VAT just for the parts. Outrageous!

Well, here's my second post in this thread. Had mine in for Inspection II on Friday and, surprise surprise, in the post-service carnage report the dealer tells me I need a new nearside rear spring. Thankfully that was the only item on the list, so I can't complain really.

The vital statistics are: -

6 years old, 54k miles, OSR.

Funny to think eh £180 plus VAT for the two rears, and yet a full set of Eibachs only £139 + Delivery

Mine too, Noticed the other day Springs were replaced at 29k and then by me at 43K. Shocking.

Took mine for an M.O.T and it failed on both front springs - £140 for the pair :(
The garage blamed it on pot-holes & speed humps :o

2006
2.0SE
18,500miles

In the process of selling my M, took the wheels off today to give them a good clean and guess what passenger side rear gone. Does anyone know if you have a bmw full used warranty whether this is covered?

Details 56 plate - MR - 37500 miles on the clock.

Yes it covered under AUC warranty or full extended warranty

Looks like my right hand rear has gone as its 2 inches lower than the left side. Booked in at BMW garage on Monday. Covered by extended warranty though. Going to ask if they will replace both though under warranty...

04 plate, 42k

Another one to add to the list - at or before 20,000 miles, rear O/S spring broken - only a small chunk off to be fair. Now replaced all 4 with Eibachs, which certainly seems to have dropped the car and so far - only 25 miles do feel better. Need to try and avoid speed bumps even more now ! :driving:

Guess you better add me too. All sorted now but rear O/S spring went and had both replaced a week ago.
