Make sure you check all other suspension components... i had the same thing happen to me a few years back and the suspension tie bar was properly bent. Had one hell of a battle with the council, so good luck with it all  thoroughly

ok.. been under it properly now, and there's nothing else wrong that I can spot.. checked pretty much the entire front end piece by piece.
backend all looks good too... however my handbrake cable just snapped lol.
I seem to remember this happened to be about 3 years back.. and it was a total arse of a job then lol. :headbang:

actually.. quick question..... 3.0se front springs are the same as 3.0i front springs aren't they? (eg, they're both the MSport variant.. same part etc?)

If it's pre facelift, yes. If they're post facelift, it'll be 15mm higher

EDIT - should say....

2003-2005
3.0i models - all M Sport suspension (unless removed and spec'd as standard suspension, unlikely)
All other models - standard suspension, but could be spec'd to Sport

2006-2009
Sport trim - all M Sport suspension (unless removed and spec'd as standard suspension, unlikely)
SE trim - all standard suspension, but could be spec'd sport

aquazi, can you pm me your number so we can sort out the spring dude?
Ta very much!

(jeez! Compared to getting bits for the charger, this is refreshing!)

I bought my Eibachs from R Tech Autosport for £175, arrived promptly, they are so much better then stock.

Good luck with sorting.

well.. practically a YEAR later, and the car is finally back in one piece.

had a MAJOR ballache with it, as it seemed I had done a lot more damage than initially thought (rear subframe fucked, front suspension mounts fucked, damaged prop, list goes on)

So far, I've spent about £4k repairing "Winston". I know I could have just bought a new one, but I'm not one for letting a good car die - and he did nothing to deserve being abandoned!

I've managed to snap the handbrake cable over the weekend, and may have made a rookie mistake when fixing a window regulator (airbag disconnected, reconnected battery... :headbang: )
But, once those are fixed, he's off for his first MOT in nearly two years.

Fingers crossed he'll pass - then it's time to look at getting him wrapped in shiny vinyl and then out to play :D

To say I can't wait is an understatement. I *may* have had a little naughty drive around the local backroads this weekend. :driving:

Wow thats crazy.. glad it back on the road now though

tell me about it...
still arguing the toss with the Council over paying the bill too :x

but hey.. just ordered an airbag reset tool that arrives tomorrow, and if the weather stays good, I'll hack into the handbrake tonight!
Gonna book MOT for Friday and then cry like a fountain if it fails!

should think so.. but not really interested in that route tbf.
it'll be another ball ache, and then have to live with the increased renewals etc...
