I don't need to do any studying. I love schumi eg as a driver, and as a sports personality these days. But he was a bellend when he wanted to be both on and off the track. I've only followed f1 for as long as I can remember - and i'm 27 so I'm sure I can hold an opinion without needing to study the past. Anyway.

But you can't stick up for Hamilton and slate the rest ;-)

By and large, it's been a pretty good season a few decent races.

Glad to see Lewis winning again. For those comparing the behaviour of Alonso/ Vettel, it's easy to be gracious in defeat/ disappointment when you start out with no expectations.

Lewis wants to win titles and sees this year as a golden opportunity. After lewis won 4 on the trot Rosberg was looking a bit whiny etc, as was Vettel when things didnt go his way during his championship years.
 
Is anyone following Rosberg on Facebook? He posts a video after every race, whether it be in the hotel room, outside the truck, at home and gives his view of the weekend. Quite interesting insight, and clever PR.
 
Thought it was a great race whilst I can't stand Hamilton I think he is a complete cock !

You can't take away from him he nailed it today !

Was so sorry for JB would have been nice for him to get a podium in memory of his dad - but that's motor racing

Good to see Williams doing well again. Felt sorry for Massa, Kimi definitely owes him a beer after avoiding what would have been a really nasty accident.

Completely agree, and Kimi probably will offer him his gin bottle he keeps in his car!

When will F1 ditch those tractor tyres? I think they will be testing 18" rims (up from 13") soon. :cpilot:
 
Weren't they saying they'll have to completely revamp the suspension though, as lots of the travel is actually in the tyres themselves ?
 
perhaps you heard the same thing that i did which is Michelin for example will only get involved in F1 again if the tyre size moved to 18 inch.
 
Bottas really is a future star comes across well i think too.

As for 18" wheels??? Have you seen the formula e cars with bigger wheels it dose not look right tome? I am sure i would get used to it though. And i can see why the tyre makers want it.
 
Bigger radius .... Hopefully will allow for bigger brakes and allow even more late braking :-p

Great race, but we missed out on a classic for sure :D

Think JB was my driver of the weekend, got the most out of his car over the whole weekend, Lewis wears his emotions on his cuffs as they say, gutted when he makes a mistake and totally overwhelmed when he wins his home race, I admire him for this but it's his biggest downfall, such a talent but fails because he can't control his emotions.

Hmmm factor in less brake cooling issues as they're not working as hard, more space for cooling = ability to be harder on the brakes ?! Surely?
 
There is an optimal temperature for the breaks to work effectively, hence why they have to work the brakes to get temperature into them, on an out lap or after a safety car. Then you will hear their engineer berate them to cool the brakes.

So changing the diameter or the mass won't help per se, but could, dependant on material make the brakes warm up slower (more mass) or quicker (less mass) given the same energy input

Interesting stuff Sars. But my logic was you see people over cooking the brakes and being told to go easy in the braking zones as a result. So with a larger space to sit the discs in, there would be more opportunity to get more cooling. And likewise a larger surface to dissipate the hear? But granted maybe I'm chasing my tail as tben they would also drop out of optimum operating temperature? This ... Is why I'm not an engineer ;-) Although I'd like to have been. Haha
