Brazilian Grand Prix

Thank god that season is over.

I hope next year narrows the gap. This year was tedium beyond belief.

If I get the job at red bull I hope you're wrong...

But yes it was a bit boring :?

Don't be so sure. All these 'proposed rule changes' are little more than media hype which Bernie loves to keep interest in the F1 Circus. As long as Adrian Newey remains at Red Bull then they will remain the team to beat irrespective on who is driving their cars.

agreed

where will ross brawn end up for 2014?

Good to see Button grab a half decent position. I think Button will do well next year with- with the increased torque surge the drivers might actually come into play a little more....

Poor start for Vettel, traction control seemed to cut in as he was trying to get off the line :poke:

I m not sure next years changes are media hype. The cars will be completely different, new engines and gearboxes, all have to be re-packaged so new aero packages all round.
The worst thing about all the changes is the fuel reduction, I believe the fuel load will be reduced from 150kg down to 100kg. So next year, not only tyre saving but fuel saving too. Is this racing, I don't think so!

Interesting point...Devils Advocate: We could have short 10 lap "sprints" with no tire or fuel issues, somewhat like moto's in bike racing. Then it would just come down to who had the best start, but the rules would have to be relaxed a lot on engine, gearbox etc. to allow advancement of the game.

Todays GP is more like Nascar than ever, all you need to see is the Start, the Finish and the highlight reel of the occasional pass (or crash in Nascar)

I think I'd rather see long races that bring fuel and tires into play. (but not refueling)

I have another idea, perhaps the teams could unite and get rid of King Bernie and then run the show themselves as a group, maybe then we might see racing.

I am a competitive shooter and was at a high level for a long time, we used to have such restrictive rules in one classification that no match went without protests and the entire game was about tricking out the equipment without getting caught. Eventually reason prevailed and the rules were changed to very simply " If it looks like a "blah blah", weighs less than "***" and has certain safety features, it's legal".
Life became much easier and we have more fun now....

I'd like to see 1990 tyre rules back - ish, but with an Adamski super special twist.

3 sets of qualy tyres max.

Each car must choose race tyre after final practice on Sat.

Pirelli needs to make 4 compounds:

Hard - last whole race, even if driven on the limit all race

Medium - if managed carefully could last whole race. 0.75 secs per lap faster than Hard. If driven 0.75 secs faster each lap, won't last full race.

Soft - will needs at least one stop. 1.25 secs quicker than hard. Driven on limit for whole race will need two stops

Super soft - needs at least 2 stops. 2 secs faster than hard tyre. Driven on limit needs 3 stops.

If done carefully with actual testing to validate performance differentials. It would lead to some interesting strategies.

Calcs would need to be done to ensure similar projected race times using each different strategy.

Also need ground effect, but have mentioned that already on another thread

I'd like to see drivers rag the arse off the cars for the entire race to see who is fastest. Don't lets have all this manage the tyres bullshit. I want balls out racing and lots of overtaking. Somewhere along the line I'm afraid Mr Ecclestone has lost sight of what his customers actually want. I think maybe it's time he handed the whole thing over.

Ha Ha Ha Ha absolutely brilliant I agree 100% -

I have the Answer give them 1 set of Run Flats for the whole race - turn all the computers off and let them go for it....... come on ! Just for one race lets see what happens...... ha ha ha ha

Bet the viewing figures for that would please Bernie !!!!! :driving:
