Brake overhaul COMPLETE pictures

So I've started getting bits together to do the work next weekend. I thought I'd experiment and have had the anti rattle clips chrome plated. I'm going to stick a decal on and wanted to lacquer over it. However I don't now how the lacquer will take to such a shiny surface or whether I need to key it?

In addition I want to have all four corners on axle stands. Any advice on where to jack and where to locate stands?

Thanks

All discs are noisier than solid.

Order is:
solid
Dimpled
Drilled with chamfer
Grooved
Drilled & grooved

Anything other than solid has an element of drone with braking. It decreases when fully bedded is

Just the balance of looks, noise and performance

i was surprised when i changed my discs from standard to grooved/drilled, its such a strange noise when your breaking in an enclosed area and can hear it clearly for the 1st time, look so much better tho :D

7mm Allen key to remove the caliper, 16 socket for the carrier and 5/6mm Allen key to remove the disc.

I think :D

Ive heard you shouldn't go near drilled as they crack?

Any hole will weaken the disk, but those not simply drilled through a finished disk and those chamfered don't suffer the same fate.

I'm also due a new set of pads and discs, was going to go drilled and grooved. With so much air space on the alloys it seems like a requirement, was also thinking of rubbing down the calipers and painting black, figured if you're going to do a job, may as well make a meal of it!

Can anyone tell me where the other end of the brake pad wear sensor connects? Do I need to remove the arch liner? Trying to formulate the plan in my head!

Thanks for all the advice with this. It all went event free. Had whole car up on axle stands and reused pad wear sensors. Some before and after (poor mobile quality) pics.

With the mtec discs, how's the noise ?
I want the drilled version in a few weeks but heard they are noisier than solid.
They are a bit nosier than solid discs. But they quiten down when beded in. I ran them on my old e86 & z3 without any problems
