Brake caliper paint colour

Did mine yesterday, only took this pic because I was battling the time. Paint caliper, clean wheels, spray rattle plate put wheels on and repeat other side. Was dark and foggy by the time I finished last caliper. Pleased though, looking forward to getting home lunchtime to see full effect.
Glad I got red but could easily have gone with yellow.

How much of the calliper are you actually painting. It seems hard to get round the back without actually detatching it from the car?

I went with yellow but it doesn't really work with the standard Z4 calipers,, the various ridges accummulate brake dust and dirt and it shows up quickly and the ridges are difficult to clean, a grey/silver/black are better choices IMHO with hindsight..

Still foggy here at home so waiting until tomorrow for more pics. Next thing is a visit to the nearest wrapper to get a quote for the black roof, believe there's one in Upwell not far from me. Will try a few different shades/colours first so I don't drive away wishing I'd been more adventurous.

Couldn't wait for a sunny day. Came out as I'd hoped, I sprayed the springs too. Nice feel to the calipers too, very smooth...

red does work well on a silver car with red interior not sure it will work so well with my blue/ivory combo..definitely leaning towards grey/graphite

Found a pic blue car gold calipers, get the right shade of gold to match the DSB and I think it will look great also goes with the ivory interior:

That does look interesting, finding the right shade of gold might be challenging though :?

Depends, if you have it done at a body shop they should have the colour chips for you to choose from, likewise if you get the paint mixed at a car bodyshop supplies outlet if you want to do it yourself. Might take a few minutes to decide but I think it will be worth it in the end.

EDIT: If you go blue then I would get matching DSB as I don't think a different shade of blue would work, although going blue wouldn't give you any contrast.

There’s a very small piece of muck on your wheels though.....absolutely no idea where but surely there must be one somewhere....

I got mine done in bmw Phoenix yellow metallic ..fior some reason they just don’t seem to show the dirt like bright yellow...

It'll be an in situ job not bodyshop, if i was going blue it would be dark to match, not a fan of the light blue shades, Im definitely considering gold now though, surprised nobody has mentioned black tbh, think I'm favouring carbon gey atm but I'll probably change my mind again before i decide.. tbf the poll has helped me rule out some options but also introduced some not considered previously

So just to draw a line under this I ended up doing none of the above Went with gold, tidied up the hubs with silver and repainted the brake disc guards black just to keep it all neat and tidy, pretty pleased with the end result, seems to work well with the blue bodywork

Cheers buddy, know what you mean, my fronts weren't too bad tbh but the rears were really shabby and the hubs were just rusty dark orange, fiddly job but makes a massive difference

On the Z4 the gold/silver/black all look OK..IMHO the blue just looks out of date as do the reds/yellows
