Boxsters

£59k - wowzer!

There's that GT3 997 I keep drooling over for £60k - 3.6k miles.

I know which model will be worth more in 3 years and I'll give you a clue - It ain't the Boxster.

Why not wait 6 months and let all the fools who buy a spec'd up car and then flog it after a year take most of the hit for you?

Agreed. But then exclusivity is not the name of the game anymore.

Everyone makes his choices.

Early adopters loose out always but gain cutting edge innovative technology.

I personally dont like the Boxster, and i dont think i would ever buy one. and curtainly not one for 59K when thats getting mighty close to 911 (real porsche) money!

after what happened with my 35is (bought it 1 year old with 6,400 on the clock) for 28k.... new price would have been 56k, (which is utterly rediculous for a Z4!) I dont think i would ever buy a new car again! just wait for the right one to come availible second hand!

i also dont like white cars at all, never have done. If your going to do it i would definately go for the S though, no point messing about with the 2.7!

Waiting 6 months is always good, but where and when do you stop waiting? Why 6 months, and why not 12 months.....it's about wanting one when you want one....but I think I am going to back out and wait for another 3-4 months....

I agree there is a fine line to be had, to be honest i ended up spending more than i planned.

I was looking at a 28i or 30i and spending around 20-23k. However when the 35is became availible i decided it was worth the extra expence as it was such a high spec and was (comparitively) so cheap. Not to mention it is the Colour, interior and wheels that were on my "perfect spec" list.

So i decided to buy it..... ok i admit it, it was a complete impulse buy and had no basis in logic..... balls i think i have just foiled my own arguement!

you know what, if you want it, its your money, buy it and enjoy it! because thats what i have done ever since i bought Bruce! :driving:

Wish our Z's were built like BOxters or Caymans. Was gobsmaked to see a completely flat bottom on a basic Cayman 2.7 on the ramp a few weeks ago; I gues you get what you pay for... well exepting the eninge on an S vs an M that is :P

I'm resisting and have called the dealer out of courtesy

I think you've done the right thing. Let the market settle down a bit and take stock. These high specified cars will be low to mid 40's soon. Let the initial novelty of a new model wear off and then go back again for a serious look.

i also think this is the right thing to do (thought you probably guessed that!) you will save yourself 15-20k in only 6-12 months. makes a lot of sense in my eyes

This is a good post. It is the reason we are here, and not driving dull cheap cars!
