This dealership is HAVING A LAUGH:

That sold recently for a MUCH LOWER price and thats the troublesome 3.2S.

The one that disintegrates.

I managed to bag a rare bit of downtime on my trip to Stuttgart so went to the Porsche Museum. Fantastic place and they have the Boxter Prototype there.

Interesting pics

I think the 986 is looking really dated these days especially around the lights, 987 still looks OK.

Lease one. Someone has just told me they were offered one on a 2 year lease for £299 per month with £900+ VAT down.

It's a relatively cheap way into a rather expensive car. The new Boxster is miles better than the current Cayman. I dare say the new Cayman will be a different story.

I was in Porsche Nottingham a couple of weeks ago and the place was awash with brand new cars. Particularly interesting was the huge discount on the old model Boxster Spyders. They had about 3 in with <100 miles IIRC for about £8k off list (before haggling). The new shape models were all laden with options and mid 50's. Only a nutter is going to pay that for a Boxster. Drive it out the showroom and it's worth about £40k. That's all I'd be prepared to pay for a new shape model.

i don't really like the boxster tbh, the boxster spyder on the other hand :)

i was speaking with a customer last week, he had a Cayman S he was asking me about the Z and i told him it was PCP

he said the Cayman is PCP £7k deposit and £425 pm on a 48/8k mile

Ok, so what's the better option. Both with £20K deposit, and on a straight lease, and no GFV, bth PDK

1. A 2.7 Boxster, new, grey with red leather, with Nav, sports electric seats, mirrors, Bose, 20'' wheels etc.

£55,000, £3000 off, so £52,000

48 payments of £492, balloon payment of £19500

2. The 3.4S, lots and lots of options, 12 reg, demo, 1500 miles £53,000. New, was £62,000

48 payments of £499, balloon of £18,600

Big question is, what's going to be worth more after say 2 years?

Why the random red roof???

sorry stark but i love this car
the red roof is class looking
would buy it at the drop of a hat (as soon as i am out of my deal)

Stark, both just seem incredibly expensive to me, the first one has £18k of options??? Crazy!

You could get an SLK55 (now with nav as standard) for that kind of cash, yeah I know the driving experience won't be there, but that V8 makes up for it.

The 3.4 would be worth more I would say.

But £20k deposit then a further £22k over 4 years.

Love the red roof/white combo but I'm with Stark - mixing it with black leather interior is a bit weird.

I know it's silly money. I guess it's because I've paid mine ff I'm looking at other cars when really I should be happy that's I'm not owing on it.....£500 a month could be better spent I guess

Thanks Wondermike

Hi Stark,

Primarily you will be buying some nice metal.

If It was my decision I would go for the S version and not the 2.7. They are always worth more than the 2.7 any number of years down the line.

Moreover the new S with the PDK geearbox have emissions comparable to the 2.7 and basically the same running costs.

If it was my decision my options would be:

S
PDK
19" wheels
Full leather
Bose
Navigation
Litronic Package (Xenons etc....)
Heated Seats
Nothing else really.

Expect it to be worth 31000--36000 after 2-3 years.

Best colours WHITE and Black. (silver is good dont pay for the special silver called GT Silver - no one gives a damn)

Regards.

Like your business idea ;)

I'd add parking sensors and the 20 inch wheels, and multi function steering wheel....

You're right about the silver....I'm maybe heading toward the white now....

That's the beauty of Porsche, they don't discount their cars and that's why their residuals are so strong.I can't fogive BMW for what they did to the E89 this year.

I thought the multifunction wheel was standard - yes you definitely need that.

And I would go for the 19inch wheels. They look good and are handling wise better than the 20.

The white with black hood and red interior (dark red ) is the best combination.

Is it available like that?

Red interior, needs a red roof....and red is more expensive than other colours....

I would not be comfortable with the red roof no.

But red seats yes.

Neither a special option for the red seats say like BMW?

You did not mention PDK i assume its agreed that it is necessary?
