bottomed out today

im sure my springs are shot as it soo low at the front. the shocks stiffen up if you bounce on them a couple of times
so its springs and shocks together at the front im sure i need.
im seeing bilstein @ carparts4 less for 106 each and sach springs for 68.66 that seems reasonable.

am i right in thinking they will just bolt on my m sports specd car and replace the m sport shocks and spring job done ?

meanwhile i will be putting on 16" wheels and tyres which are more comfortable.

Did you find this improved your ride from the 18s?
not done it yet, im curious yes, but i think i have to resolve my low soggy suspension at the front first. waiting in the wings (better weather) i have these to go back on..

Be interested to know as technically the fronts shouldn't fit & were never offered as a option for 3.0 Z4s.

when you say the front shouldnt fit, do you mean the 16" WHEELS wont fit on the front of thr car ?
i think i saw somewhere that 300mm disks were ok which i think i have, but like you im only curious because of my soggy bottom, and not because i prefer 16" - now im aware i have suspension problems i will address those first.

Thats correct.
The 16s were intended for the less powerful models that needed smaller brakes.
Daresay a spacer might aid your quest. Rears probably fine without.

less powerful huh. starts to weep quietly.. :| but i accept when i give it the beans the brakes could be better, but until i trust the car i wont be testing them much ...

Less power requires smaller brakes therefore smaller wheels
All the answers are there.
Thats not to say more power equals more pleasure , I've had good times in both my 2.5s

my mechanic has raised a couple of questions,
1 will i need to get new posts/turrets if i fit standard springs on ?
2 whats is the cost differance if i fit the factory m sport suspension as opposed to standard fit at the front. ?

In relation to 2 - you shouldn’t pair M Sport suspension on the front with SE at the rear.

Either go SE on all four corners, or go M-Sport all round.

I presume M-Sport will be more expensive.

ok you lot.. what do we recommend for keeping it m sport spec.. make and price anybody |?
just front end for now please

don't just refresh the front though, they're bound to be knackered and the backs are very easy to change

Deffinately do front and back. For all four springs anything from £140 to £200 depending on brand.

Surely this thread is a wind up to see how many times you can ask the same question and keep people answering.... :headbang:
