BMWs, come to Willow Springs on 6-28-09!

Good day at the track. Very warm day in the valley. Rule of the day was check those trie pressures.

8:30 right after the drivers meeting already 85 degrees

At 9:00 was our groups 1st session on the track and by 9:06 or so someone was testing the limits of car and driver. They tell you in the drivers meeting to watch turn 3 as it is a banked turn and that lots of cars end up off track at this turn as it makes the rear end light headed up hill. Some people just do not listen.

As it was to happen Robyn was in the right place at the right time and was taking a video. This is my first time pushing the limits a bit too far. At least now I know where that is. Just thankful that I was doing this testing in the correct place and not on some highway somewhere. I did get blacked flagged which ment I was required to make a stop in the hot pit for inspection. They found that I had got some rocks jammed between the rim and the tire and I would not be allowed to track with that issue , so off to town to have it taken care of 25 minutes and $10 later I was back at the track and ready for session 2.

We did not have many pics of the day as Robyn was taking pics with multiple cameras and the other cameras were much better than mine, so pics will need to come from those other cameras.

Over all it was another good day at the track with cars and friendsThis will be my last track day till fall as the heat was a bit too much in the valley.

Not a bad off. I think you just transitioned to throttle too quickly, before the rearend got set in the corner. Good thing you went off low in the corner, where there is more runoff before the hay bales. Some guys try to fight it and end up doing tank slappers before nosing into the hay bales about 40 feet up the hill from where you went off.

Still working on pics...

You just need to make a road trip up to Laguna Seca for one of the trackdays up there this summer - it's 69F there today. Speedventures will be happy to bury your mastercard a little deeper...

And, remember to warm up your tires first!

If you never do anything nothing will ever happen and I'm just not built that way. :driving: :driving:

Yeah heat/money/time will keep me from attending another event. If ya'll look closer you'll see us other Z folk a few cars back. There were quite a few times I drifted out on that corner from applying gas too early.....luckily for me I kept DSC on, although all the slips I did (except one) were handled by me and not the DSC (for that corner anyways), I think I could of handled the one where it did kick in but I would of been farther out sideways than intended.

I was sliding almost every corner and squaring off corners.

Turn 9 was the most interesting. :o

Turn one was the most fun.

Turn three was a point and scoot up the hill in a straight line.

Turn four was a pivot and shoot

Turn five was a hard brake and foot to the floor til entering 8 , feather and settle, and then accelerate till the brake marker... TURN

Pics from the track is up We were at willow springs and the black run group. I went off track at the 9:00am time.

When you do things often enough something is bound to happen. Robyn just picked that lap to do a vedio. I thought it was a good catch.

Just so everyone knows,,, If I post my fubars online I will also post any of your online also.  :poke:
