BMWs, come to Willow Springs on 6-28-09!

I've arranged with Speed Ventures to hold a dedicated BMW-only run group on Sunday, 6-28-09. I'll be taking my Z4 MC. All BMWs (and Minis) are welcome!

The BMW Run Group is for drivers with some previous track experience. Novices are of course welcome to attend and should sign up for the Beginners & BMW Group. I highly encourage all Beginners & BMW Group drivers to pay for first-time-driver in-car instruction. Speed Ventures charges very little for this service and it will make your day even more fun!

Speed Ventures runs a very organized and safe event. Willow Springs is a wide, smooth track that is the easiest track to learn in CA and also provides subtle challenges for advanced drivers.


Follow THIS LINK: http://www.speedventures.com/events/eventdetail.aspx, then sign up for the 6-28-09 date and choose either the "BMW" Group or the "Beginners & BMW" Group.

We need at least 20 cars registered by the 21st to hold the run group as BMW-only, so please add your name to the list below:

p.s. If we get enough signups we could get a second BMW-only group!
 
Count me in provided everyone else signs up too. I don't know if I'll be able to register by the 21st, but I should be able to.

Btw, I forgot to mention that Aaron says that anyone who registers with Speed Ventures with a BMW by 6-22 will get a free transponder for timing, or $10 off their bill.
 
Host hotel for the event is the Inn of Lancaster - info on the information page for the event on the Speedventures site. I have no idea how the place is.

According to the periodic Speedventures email newsletter, Aaron is hosting a BBQ there Saturday nite - note "saturday night BBQ" in the comments box during the sign up process.

Btw, I just saw that there will be two races on the 28th at Willow. One will be a Miata Challenge, the other will be a Club Corvette Challenge. Should make for some great viewing between sessions!

And a reminder: The event will be held rain or shine (not that it rains in Lancaster), and even if we don't get to 20 BMWs and hold our BMW-only run group the extra spots will simply be taken up by other cars...which we can then school :evil:

Also, Aaron will be holding a complimentary BBQ on Saturday night, for those of you driving up the night before. Details will be delivered via email after you register.
 
I am now signed up. Next up, register to stay in a hotel. Will there be much beyond watching a race/racing done by our group on Saturday? Reason I ask is that I'll probably leave Saturday morning.

-You mean Sunday, right? Saturday is the 27th.
 
Right, I'm signed up for Sunday. However I was wondering if there was anything going on for saturday? I know the BBQ is that night...

Matt did you have something in mind? Most of us are 1 1/2 hrs south of the track.

I'm on der list.
 
Nope, nothing in mind, just seeing what's happening.

All I've gotten so far email wise was the one talking that they may open the balcony, don't forget your tech checklist, etc.
