Did I ... :erm:
You probably wont go far or keep it long though :poke:

More x5s than f10s.

WTF. Well, maybe most x5s drive better than most f10s. Dunno, never drove one and never will.

I wonder how long the e89 will stay in production with only 78/month in bmw supposedly biggest market (I wonder what worldwide sales are)

GuidoK - 2,151 Z4's were sold globally in 2014. This sales volume is 13% less than the total Z4 sales volume in 2013. U.S. sales account for nearly half of all Z4 sales globally.

If they are made to order I would think they would be available for as long as people want to buy them.
Money is money after all.

hmm. No market for 2 seater roadsters or the wrong car for the market?
Bet the new Mazda MX5 sells 1000s this year. Light weight, Manual, Normally Aspirated.... just saying! :fuelfire:

My understanding is that the SLK sells like hot cakes.

I think BMW made the decision to turn the tiny 2-seater into a SL-like grand tourer car and the buyers didn't like it. I like it. Honestly since mine is leased I can hope that the used e89 marketed crashes into oblivion and I'll spend 20 years in them.

Mercedes gets away with the SL-like SL because they also have the SLK, which provides the illusion of choice and might boost both cars' sales.

On the plus side, our cars might become sought after classics in a few years!

Yeah, that's my dream, since I'm picking up a 2016 on the 15th in Munich - last of the E89s probably.

and $20-30 grand cheaper

Well, with a lease in the US the z4 is cheaper, but...

BMW brought this on themselves.

I wanted to write a full page rant about BMW's convertible strategy anyway. Maybe it is time? I need to practice rants anyway.

For comparisons sake, 411 new SLK's were sold in the U.S. during the month of May.
