BMW M4 Prices

Just to completely "one-up" AnttiO, am over in Singapore at the moment on business, just passed a launch event for the M4 over here.

S$260,000 (~£130k), plus you need to add S$70,000 (£35k) for a 'Cetificate of Entitlement' that is, a licence to be able to buy a new car.

So, if you have £165k spare you can get yourself an M4 over here.

Makes you realise how easy we have it, with regards to motoring, over in the UK.

So a year after launch, £64,000 new, and now £48,000. 25% knocked off.....predictable, but I'd be going to see those dealers, who truth be known would never be truthful on residuals would they.....

a used m4 with 10k kms over here will go for around $160 minimum.. $185k new including government charges..

Ah OK, from what I've seen not much discount being offered on new models though. Certainly not going the way of the 35is or 640d M-Sport.

the 25% isn't the norm, most cars are around the £52-55k mark with 6-12k mileage, you'd expect 15-20% depreciation surely?

I didn't really "Get" the new M3 when I drove it, but I think I do now, and think I would happily have one now.

I think that it would be a great car, that would mean you don't need two cars, like a Z4m and say a modern daily car. Its probably a very good daily car if your a petrol head. I personally couldn't stand a new modern eco daily type car. They are all so boring, BMW etc included.

I'd agree with lots of M4 sentiments, its great - but it lacks something special (we're all smug in our lovely little sports coupes that kids point and smile at). I don't think that's any different to previous M cars though, thats kinda the point.. its a tuned compact exec. I think it improves significantly with a few choice mods, though, in the looks dept.

HK is the worst isn't it? Cars are pricey, but really - there's nowhere to actually drive... so i'd argue that's worse!

Channel Islands with the 40 mph limit probably just as bad ...

Gets great reviews, just sounds a bit pap.

There is a map you can get, it gives you an additional perimeters plus the original BMW ones which allows for more customisation. It can open the exhaust up a bit, apparently even in sport plus its only half open to fit with EU regs so with this map you can have it open and it sounds a million times better.

Also theres a few good vids demonstrating how good it is.

Its definitely growing on me, I prefer the M3 those arches are even more apparent and it looks more a sleeper. If only that exhaust was better but as said the map can really improve it or go after market there seems to be some good ones.

At the moment with discounts its hard to find a car that does everything it does in the price range… They have done a good job although more sedate than the old M recipe, but what can they do with these EU regs...

JB4 on the m4 is going to be the future, 500bhp+ easily.

Also - armytrix exhaust for it is pretty mental, better than the akropovich/hamann imo.

wow @ the ring vid.. crazy. i'm actually somewhat a fan of the 5 door too tbh, i've seen a pic with spacers and some lowering springs and it looks super beasty.

+1

With a fairly small scale map you can easily get 500+ out of it. Those turbos might need replacing a little quickly tho.

I think a decent map could help with the traction issues. Could do with winding a bit of torque down early in the rev range

Don't know if you guys remember Nick Murray that guy that had all those problems with his 991 911? Well he ended up getting his money back and bought an M4. He has done a load of vids on the M4, this one he compares his standard car to a car with the map I described above. He's a bit eccentric but his vids give some good info.

But he kept that car less than a year though - thought he was looking to go back to Porsche as he found the M4 a bit dull?

He's still got the M4, but ye the M4 is a different car to the 911 and he prefers the 911 but no skin off the M4s nose.
