Sounds great, very strong asking price in todays market.

Pics will be very beneficial.

Thanks Ray didn’t know how to get pics on here as I have a video but can’t add that but what do you think of the pictures

The car looks great, some interior pics would also be good as it gives a prospective buyer info about any toys etc. I am by far an expert on E89s and especially regarding selling them. Low mileage cars command higher prices but when i was looking i was more interested in cars that had good service history and plenty of toys. Milage was not high on my list, mainly because low mileage were out of my price range.

OK...mileage is king these days when it comes to asking prices and that is a VERY low mileage E89 but you are WAY off on your price. Sorry but it is true.

To be anywhere near that kind of money it needs to be a true 'unicorn' which apart from the mileage it isn't. Unless the reg is worth a lot of money.

I hope you get what you want for it, I really do, but I think it is unrealistic. GLWTS though.

Cheers mate I don’t know what a true unicorn one would be but mine full service history by BMW and every extra that can be fitted to this model new it was £32000 with £5000 of extras including a BMW 5 year service package

I’m afraid it doesn’t, two very biggies missing, no iDrive and looks like basic stereo from the pictures. As others have said, VERY strong price. GLWTS

It’s going to be a classic one day and tried to keep it original spec thanks for the comments though

In that case you need a buyer who wants to put it in a museum, or a private collection. Finding that person is gonna be tough, very tough. If that person exists. If anybody buys it to use it, they will lose many thousands in a very short time. Who would want to do that?

If you really want (or need) to sell it, you are going to have to be realistic about the state of the market for the E89. It isn't very good at the moment. Terrible time of year to sell a convertible too which isn't going to help.

As said, I wish you luck but at the price you are asking, I can see you holding on to it for a long time.

In no hurry to sell as it’s my pride and joy didn’t know the market was that bad and yes you’re right summer is always a better time to sell a convertible but I can’t find any with this low mileage and as good a condition and spec as this online have seen one on auto trader same year with 46k and a 1.8 litre at £14500 so thought this was a good price for a excellent condition low mileage and full service history car but I’m open to reasonable offers if someone is serious about buying it

Have a look on eBay mate. 2012 with 14k on the clock up for £11800. And that’s at a dealer with warranty.
Just a heads up. Not knocking the car

Ok thanks for that there’s no way I would take that it’s just such an amazing little pocket rocket in such amazing condition but as I said I’m open to decent offers once someone been in it and sees it for real they will realise how unique it is for a car of this age

Please don't think I (or anyone else) is deliberately trying to be negative about your car. I (we) are trying to help you sell your car.
You are not the first person to join the forum to sell their car. It happens a lot. We have seen unrealistically priced cars many times before. They never sell. Ever.
One of two things normally happens. Either the owner takes on board what the forum's knowledge advises them, or they get all upset and throw their toys out and disappear (usually whilst calling everybody all the names under the sun).

You have mentioned the 'spec' a couple of times now. From the list you provided above, you car only has heated seats, parking sensors (PDC), a wind deflector and folding mirrors as options. That is NOT a high spec E89. That is a fairly average spec E89.

I am sure it is immaculate and has been cherished. But so have many other E89s as they are a popular 'Summer only' toy. So many have low mileages too. Mine is a 2016 car with less than 30k miles and a much better spec in excellent condition with FSH. It is not worth anything like the value you have put on yours.

Thanks for the advice I’ll definitely think about it but have a lot of interest so so will just have to see what happens as I’ve only just made this decision to sell

As has been said, particularly by Pondrew, we’re not knocking you or the car but you’re on a specialist form where there’s a HUGE knowledge base about these cars and that invariably means that your audience knows the market very well.

My comment was in response to you saying it has all options that were available. I was merely pointing out that two of the biggest, and most sought after, options are missing.

The E89’s came with a basic, standard, and having had one, pretty awful stereo. There’s then a mid range , and top range, both cost options. I’ve also had the top spec one, and they’re worlds apart. Going by the limited interior pictures it looks like your car has the basic one.

The iDrive was again a very expensive option, which you don’t have, and again is slightly dated now but for a few hundred quid can be brought bang up to date and allow apple car play, android auto etc to be used.

You’ve been given a price comparison for a similar car, which you say you wouldn’t even consider, and you’ve PERFECTLY entitled to say that, your car, your choice but that’s what the market is showing.

GLWTS

The E89 is very unlikely to be a classic. The 2.0 is even less likely to be a classic.

£18,000 isn't even in the ballpark for this car.
