Bluetooth in the car issue...

So, I wa convinced that I never had Bluetooth in the car...
I have a telephone option on the Sat Nav but guessed that was because f the dock in the arm rest.
Jut installed an Intravee which gives an option to Bluetooth tether (or something) anyways, I turned this on and in my phone Bluetooth pop up BMW followed by a series of numbers! I go to put a code in (obviously wrong) and on the Nav Screen it says failed to connect, same on the phone stating I need to check the password... Do I have a BT module then somewhere? If so how do I get the pass code for it?

i think its in the boot, passenger side, attached to the firewall - code should be on the actual module

You're a star mate! I'll have a rummage tomorrow. Is tat what it looks like then? I don't have a Bluetooth option on the standard Nav screen though which is why I am a little baffled.

Ranski

Doesn't say 'Bluetooth' in the menu on mine, just 'Telephone'. Typically unhelpful... Though mine came with the code on a bit of paper tucked into the handbook, which was a wee giveaway. Be patient with the pairing - to say it can be temperamental is n understatement

I found you need to be quick when putting the code in, if you take too long it won't do it:!:

So, got it all connected which is brilliant!

BUT! It won't show my contacts that are in my Favourites list in the phone and also it sounds like the sound is coming from a tiny speaker in the boot!?
Anyone had this? It doesn't cut off the radio either when I try and call?
I have a parrot installed at the min because I wasn't aware I had BT!
Would this affect it do you think?

Mine mutes the stereo automatically and sound comes out the main speakers. But mine is connected just using the car, not the Intravee. I am not sure what the problem is but I'd take the Parrot out as it may be confusing things. Also, when you answer the phone - assuming you have an iPhone - make sure you use the button on the steering wheel to answer. If you swipe the phone to answer then the iPhone routes the audio o the handset, nt the car.

Yeah the parrot cuts the audio at the min so I guess that's taking the needed feed from the BT to do it. This is just connected through the car now not the Intravee which is good. Followed a thread that Ranski posted and worked first time after I found the code
If only I knew I had BT in the first place I would of saved myself a few quid on this parrot system! Think I'll pop it in my wife's motor :)

So i have had the Parrot taken out today and the Bluetooth still wont work as it should!?

What i have...

Bluetooth module in back which has a code on alowing me to connect to the car
Phone connects fine with BT module
Contacts and full phone menu comes up on NAV screen
When an incoming call comes in i am shown this on the Nav Screen
I can make and receive calls through the car

What i dont have...

Audio through the speakers!

When a call comes in etc i can pick it up, the radio is not muted and the only sound i can hear is from the module its self (as if there is a speaker on it)
WHERE DO I START!?!?

hmm, have you tried turning the volume up (on the car audio system) during a call? (i know.. worth asking!) Also can't remember if there's any settings in the intravee setup for the telephone, maybe worth a crack at the manual.

I find my bluetooth incredibly handy, however at higher speeds i tend to find i cant hear people, and sometimes they cant hear me - im not sure if that's the car or my phone signal.. need further testing.

Yup,
volume up or down does not work. In fact it freezes the volume at what it is when the call comes through! :headbang:
Just had a word with local indy and its booked in tomorrow to have a diagnosis done. Unless anyone has any other ideas?

Spoke to BMW direct and they say it could be because the car software needs updating? Anyone shed any light on this?

Have you go the telephone option on your nav screen mate?

I scrambled in the boot and had a good rummage around... Let me take a pic of where it is located...

What I get on the screen menu...
Telephone is there and always has been.

JUST THE STUPID AUDIO FEED TO THE SPEAKERS!!!

Worth resetting all profiles do you think? How do you go about doing that?

Hmm, no idea then mate! Mine has a telephone option on the screen. The BT module is on the rear bulkhead on the passenger side in the boot. Do you have the phone cradle in the centre console pull down door?

Have a phone cradle i think. I defiantly don't have that option on screen :( Might have to look into the BT module see if it can be fitted.
