I'm not sure whether you have a cd-changer by your description, but this one utilises that function.

Anyway, got this which is along the lines of what you mean I think:
Andoer® Bluetooth A2DP Music Audio 30 Pin Receiver Adapter Compatible with iPod iPhone iPad Speaker Dock https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0118RTDK6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lgxtFb7GPVJT3
Works a treat, connect iPhone to Bluetooth dongle and then Spotify through the phone, sound quality is great, cheap and easy. Plug and play, no messing with wiring and CD changers.

This is what I had in mind but reading the description I'm not sure it would work with android phones.
OK, looks like you have 2 options to go with now. Certainly the Amazon unit is the cheapest, but I do you have the functionality of using the steering wheel controls? AndyBeech should be able to answer.GJ1 said:Z4C_er said:Hi, this is the one I bought:

The vin-decoder says Preparation, BMW 6-CD changer I-bus so I guess it would work if I went down this route?

Chris_D said:You'll need a voltage adapter that sits between the end of your ipod cable and bt dongle.
Using an mpow dongle here and USB AudioPlayer Pro on Android here. Works seamlessly.

Is that so the battery doesn't drain or just to make it work?
AndyBeech do you use an adapter?
I'd say yes, but if you are willing to 'have a go', do some research on this forum and YouTube and continue to do what you're doing now, which is talking to forum members, then we'll talk you through it, or failing that, someone may offer to help. How familiar are you with working on cars? Also, where are you based?GJ1 said:Z4C_er said:OK, looks like you have 2 options to go with now. Presumably you have to take the head unit out and fit this to the back? Is it easy to fit for a novice?

Nope no adapter, fits straight on to the ipod connector. Never had any issues and I use it all the time. No controls for the phone, you have to manually control it / skip tracks etc or just set up a playlist and go. It's a crude-ish solution but if you just want to play music from your phone and nothing else it works.

I'll do some research![]()
My brother is pretty handy with cars so he should be able to help out. I'm based in near Gatwick.
