Mrs B will be delighted with the new dust pan and brush I can buy her from the £1 shop

It is Mrs PVR's birthday today, so the budget could be doubled

Yup Bing and PVR win their £. Car came to the dealer on Tuesday and I didn't like the lights when it was in the showroom. Also the price I was going to pay, there is a dealer contribution on a new one which won't make it much more expensive, so new one is on the horizon. Not ordered anything yet but left my deposit with them, I have spent hours on the configuration already.....decided 3.4 S but not whether to go for Boxster or Cayman. White or Agate Grey.

Options I want

Bose
Sports Electric Seats
Sports Exhaust
Colour Coding
Keyless
Coloured key haha
Headlight washer
TV
PCM Navigation
PDK Gearbox
Folding Mirrors
20 Satin Coloured wheels
Factory Collection

£62,000 on a Cayman

And yes that's M4 Money

I've been out in my mates 981 Boxster S today which is the identical spec virtually to that above. His was £57k. The sports exhaust sounds flipping awesome with the roof off. Really loud with lots of lift-off popping etc. I had a bit of an oohh shiny moment but went out in mine later and all is well again!

You won't be disappointed with that Stark. But I reckon you should do Boxster - you're a real Roadster person at heart.

The white one I posted above has the sports exhaust too apart from xenon- led package, sat nav 20" wheels etc

Very nice exhaust.

I'd go Boxster or Cayman, I think you can look a bit of a cock in a 911.
That's debatable as some might think you are a cock because you didn't buy a 911!

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what Porsche you own I think as they all have the cache of the badge anyway and most people lust after owning one...I know I certainly do. :D

Yeh I see what you mean. Don't get me wrong I do love a 911 I just wouldn't ever own one. I think the neighbours would be watching you pull up on the drive and saying look at the cock in his 911! :( but I suppose if you can afford a 911 you can afford to live somewhere without neighbours.
I definitely wouldn't get away with driving one to visit customers at work, the Zed's bad enough! :x

What the chuff does Pony Porsche mean?
'Pony' in cockney rhyming slang = 'pony & trap' = crap

Ah, ok. He can shout that to my yellow arse when I spank him in my 'pony porsche' :D

Would that be before or after he's not changed the engine ?

Lux I do understand what you are saying and a 911 like many other cars seems to have a certain image but for me I really couldn't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks about a car I own because as long as I am happy with it that's all the matters and like you we have an Audi and a BMW so everyone already thinks we are cocks because we drive an Audi! and are unimaginative because we drive a common BMW as well... so you cant win regardless!

What car CAN you buy without being judged? Arguably the one brand everyone loves is Aston.. so you turn up in an Aston DBS, or pull your DBS out of the garage at the weekend - you'll still be judged for earning more money than someone. Jealousy rears it's head in many forms. At least you're the one with the Porsche and not the one with the Jealousy.

I agree

My experiences so far have been positive, helped a little by the rarity of the model (only 100 in the UK).

I think it's great you're getting it out and driving it too - I know you did a lot of miles on the M in the first few years, then it tailed off... Was that just work, or do you think the shine wore off a bit and you really needed a change ?

Work primarily, but secondly the Scottish runs stopped and I no longer organised the German runs which were the main contributors to the miles.

Never got bored with the M, but the trips just no longer were there.

Would love to do a German run... Hopefully in the meantime it'll be going back to Scotland this year
