In my old blue zed I rarely had the chav chariots trying it on, but something about Imola Red, four 'zorsts and the M badge seems to piss them off. I've had some real head cases trying it on and making mad overtaking moves :thumbsdown:

its always fun but totally pointless. as they just catch you at the next lights.
i find in the z that i don't get challenged as much as i used to in the focus i had before. the westy is the same apart from dads in zafira's for some reason.
thing is with our car is it really faster than others? a 230bhp hot hatch against a 230 bhp z .... there is probably not much in it till silly speeds and for what who's got the bigger straight line cock?
i much prefer seeing how well i do on the twisty with a quick car. the westy is good for that. top speed is about 120 not much faster than a focus but it just gets there quick. playing with bikes on mountain roads is fun. straight line they win but corners 4 sticky wheels wins over 2

Only ever raced properly off the lights once, Celica GT with a dustbin exhaust. Totally had him, then a car pulled out ahead and straight over into my lane. Feckin' brakes are ace on these cars, so whilst still alive I decided it's not such a great idea to properly go for it in confined spaces. In any case, even without racing I get off the line at lights a lot faster than most other normal cars on the road. And tbh, if you try you can make the car sound brilliant even up to just 30mph :wink:
Imo 'street' racing isn't about the fastest car, but who is willing to take the most chances. OC in your younger days you take more chances...
Here in mk with the grid network and loads of dual carriageways, I don't seem to be able to make a local journey without someone trying to tempt me into a race/show off. In the vast majority of cases I simply cruise along. Some people take the mk roundabouts at nutty speeds, for them it's question of when, not if....

yeah i've had similar, cars pulling in front etc. happened in the westy once where i thought id locked up a front (no servo assistance on that car.. great feeling) apparently 4 parallel lines as i locked all wheels up . proper brown trouser moment lolthe point of the bhp figures tho is if you and i were side by side and equally able the difference would be naff all so not worth it really like you say.
