Black Z4M wheels on Black Coupe ... Fitted!!

What about nut holes in yellow? I did mine amber to match the old prefacelift indicators as rest of car is black. Easy job to do and spray over with black if you try it and dont like it!

Well I have made a start..

This weekend mainly conisted of repairing Kerb damage, rubbing down of wheels.. more rubbing down of wheels, priming, more priming, glossing and yep you guessed it more glossing!!!

So at the minute they are in the garage hardening off. Unsure whether to lacquer them or not though. Iv'e read contradicting information on wheter you should lacquer a solid colour. I think I will leave them as they are and then if anything chips its just paint and I can touch them up directly on top.

Anyway, Im pretty pleased with the results so far. The two rear winter tyres arrived today so hopefully the fronts will come this week and I can get them fitted next weekend. Just need some new Centre Caps. Anyone know the best place to get these from? I've heard that standard caps dont fit M wheels?

Here's a few pics of my weekend so far for you :D

My fingers are very sore but the nice black shiny things make up for it :D

I remember seeing yours actually. They did look good. Think its just a little bit too much yellow for me though. I just want a slight hint just to enhance the wheels so there's not too much black..

The stuff I have ordered is only 6mm thick so it won't be as prominent as the images shown on here. Or at least it shouldnt be

I bought some for my M wheels and they were only advertised as 'normal'.

Thanks guys,

I bought some centre badges from BMW today. Couldnt find any on eBay that werent from Japan or USA and it didnt say whether they were genuine or not.. £35 lighter but they do look good.

Not sure whether to stick the M badges back on the wheels or not though. Only problem if I dont is the little recess thats in the wheel for the badge to sit in. Guess if I had really thought about it I could have filled the recess in before painting the wheels.

Stick the M badges on. Much nicer. I'd stick the wheels on like that, without the stripe. They are VERY shiny and you've done a fantastic job! :)

Thanks IK. I'm very pleased with them. I have ordered the yellow rim tape and when it comes I will try it up to the rims and see what I think. It wasnt expensive so if I decide to not bother it's no great loss.

Front winter tyres came today and the rears came on Monday so I will be getting tyres fitted on saturday and will get them on the car saturday afternoon.. It just dropped to 7 degrees on my way to work this morning so just be in good time I think :driving:

ditch the yellow tape why not black spokes and polished rims.

These are winter wheels. The reason I am running these is to get away from the polished rims on my summer wheels and all the problems that would come with road salt etc corroding them

They look superb. Definitely stick the M badge back on.

I must admit I'm not impressed by the refurb job BMW did on my wheels. I'm going to have them done again seeing as one is kerbed again now, but will the The Wheel Specialists in Fareham. Don't have the time/patience/skills to do what you've done!

Thankyou for your kind comments dan yeates :D. I wouldn't say skill is part of it but time and patience definately is. Took me 2.5 days to prep, prime and paint but I think its worth it. My sore fingers might no agree so much though :(

Have a go yourself. You will suprise yourself how easy it is and save yourself a few hundred quid for the pleasure

Have to say hats off to the job, they really look stunning! I would say stick with the badges and loose the tape, shouts out too much japanese influence. But everyone to their own of course! Would love to have ago tbh, how did you go about glossing them?
