I might have a go at painting them, To remove them I belive you just pull them up and out at the same time, Is this correct ?, Does any one no if you can spilt the chrome part from the black part once removed ?, Thanks Tim.

Yes, the OEM ones can be split. I used Pastidip on mine, has lasted for over 6 months, no chips, tears or wear, and an easy top over/removal if required.

Thanks for the info, Do they just pull up and out to remove them. Thanks
How do you apply plastidip? I have heard that it needs little prep. Where can you buy it?

Plastidip doesn't stand stonechips very well... IF you paint them, you need a good primer and decent paint, otherwise it's not really worth the bother.

Definitely wouldn't paint, did that on a previous car and it didn't last long at all.

PlastiKote is quite good if you prime the surfaces properly and apply several layers. Seems to resist chips reasonably well.

Didn't even prime mine when I used plastikote. Just loads and loads of layers. Think I've got two chips out of it, not bad for nearly a year

I used plastidip-type paint from frost.co.uk (cost around £9 per can) - they have rubberised paint, took about 5 coats. I prepped with some rubbing alcohol and a light key with some 2000 grit. Then sprayed a light first coat, waited until it went opaque, light second coat, and repeated. Did them before Silverstone zedfest, done a few miles and still look good. No peeling, chipping etc at all. And if it does, it would take 10 mins to remove, and 30 minutes to recoat.
