Black + Chrome Grills

I know this has been asked loads of times :roll: But having seen a reduced set a BMW dealer i bought them and fitted them - and for some reason i think i prefer my grey ones - I guess they are unique to only the 3.0, and they sort of match the headlights - if i had the black inners in my headlights I think the blacks would look better.

You've got a shadow right across the front which makes it harder to judge though.

Personally I think the black slats look far better on a black Z4, irrespective of the headlamp internals being black or silver. I considered black slats on my silver Z4 with silver headlamp internals, but it just doesn't work on my colour.

Thats the perfect description of it! I think i prefer the elegance of the grey slats - but after fitting my private plate over and looking at it i think i prefer the black now

you need to go all black i think.

All black does look very nice on yours - but i think with my silver headlights i would need some silver on them... so ruled out spraying the chrome bits black.

aquazi, my car twin but with a folding roof! Are you just trying to clone mine? :lol: I changed mine to black and chrome and have never looked back. They look fantastic.

The elegant and aggressive description is perfect. So I guess the question is, do you prefer the elegance or aggression? Me personally I much prefer the agression...

Rudd-2002 do you have any pics of the full back ones? Also were the one's you got from ebay covers or full new unit?

we've done all this before several times, use the search folks

and it's "grille", a grill is something you'd find in an oven :lol:

Would stay standard with those headlights or go full blacked out front end which was on my to do list had i bought a black Z

Right after a few more exterior mods today - (vinyl over the side reflectors, carbon lettered reg plate) i think the black will stay for a while.

I even black vinyled over the chrome on them to see how the all black would look and i def prefer the chrome rim to them.... I also have some red vinyl - so was tempted to play around and make them match my seat (with a red outer rim) but luckily i got called away for some work before i went all saxo on them!

mine are the full grille, got them with my clear lights from the same guy. i dont think the covers sit right on the car

I would also look at getting the standard ones Vinyl wrapped, I'm no expert at this but it might be cheaper and get the required look without the need to fit new parts.
