It’s exactly 1 year ago since I bought my Z4 from Gwest44 at Sheffield. Travelled up on the train from Newton Abbot and got picked up in the car from the station. I will never forget my drive home and how how excited I was to show my wife. Great day. Still love the car and driving it. Brill. :driving:

Happy aniniversary

I did the same, booked 1st class ticket on train to Leeds.
Enjoyed the drive all the way back to Folkestone.
Is worth it to travel to get the right car

Happy Z4versary, I'm starting to wish I'd bought mine from further away so I could have experienced the journey home, instead I managed to find mine about 800 yards from my house. So my journey involved 2 mini-roundabouts and 3 speedbumps.

Two years with mine, travelled Newport, Wales over to Bristol on the train then bus ride to vendors house a few days after going by road to check it out. On that occassion he was OK with me plugging the laptop in and scanning the car, nothing showed up as faulty, did spot cam cover gasket leak and after a short test drive agreed on a price less £200 than the asking price to cover the repairs it needed. Had previously looked at another one in Taunton and that was a dog so couldn't walk away from this one. In the two years I have had it put a different sent of wheels and tyres on it, replaced starter motor and sorted cam cover and oil filter gaskets. Oil level sensor replaced but it already needs another one, will do that next oil change. Invested in a run flat for a spare and moved the hood motor to the boot, that was in fact the first thing I did to future proof it as the car lives outside. Also fitted a pair of led DRL's to the lower grill, helps to make the car stand out to other road users as the car is Silver and can blend in to the road surface. Latest replacement is an Alternator that packed up a few weeks ago, fitted a used replacement and will be having the failed one reconditioned locally and will fit that when done.
Now got 94k on the clock and runs fine, enjoy trips out as often as I can.

Glad you're still enjoying it - I sold its replacement last week the red E89 and hadn't realised it's been a year since you bought the E85.
Not just because you bought but I'd have to say the E85 was the best condition Zed I've owned and I'm now on my 14th
Picked up this Z3 at the start of the week which is Zed #14 for me - I'd been on the lookout for a 2.8 widebody after selling my previous one to make way for the one you eventually bought.

My first z 2.2 i flew to Manchester from Carcasonne and was met by seller and drove to Liverpool to pick up the car then to my mums in colchester then after a few days to folkestone euro tunnel then home to south of France, all in all I enjoyed it but hated driving in France in the dark with halogen headlights.
Returned to buy another in London this time 3.0,I expected better from the xenon’s but was equally disappointed, still love it though and will never sell it.

Thanks guys, nice to hear other members experiences with their new to them cars who obviously feel the same as I do. I can’t get over how nice the style of the car looks, they really are one of the best looking cars on the road even at 18 old. Here’s looking forward to the next anniversary. :driving:
