Best tyres you've used?

I used to run AD08s on my old Clio sport and I thought they were brilliant. I may give them a try, just need to try and find the correct sizes. I'm running 265 & 235 MPSS but may go back to OE sizes as my sidewalls are way to big in those sizes and I can't find any 265/35 tyres that I would want.

Can't believe you've gone through them already!

Whatever you do, get rid of your balloon sidewalls :P :P I would recommend 265\35 and 235\40

Personally I love my Goodyear Asymmetric 2's. No idea how they'd perform on track and I'm sure they won't grip quite as well as PSS, but sometimes too much grip can make the car less playful. However for a tyre that's fantastic in the summer, it's also very very good in wet and cold conditions, even below 0 degrees.

Haha I know! Lasted less than a year !!

They still have some meat left on them. They have just been through too many heat cycles and not up to anymore trackdays. I was getting a lot more tyre squeal this time whereas I've never had any before. Also felt like I was driving on ice at times so it's time for some new tyres for next years track season.

This is how the fronts looked after the day;

I agree with you with regards to the sidewalls though. It's just trying to find good tyres in those sizes. Will have a wee look.

Well done !! your enjoying your M car as intended :-)

I like the Good years. Replacing Fronts next week currently on 38k miles and they are the original 2006 OEM tyre! Showing their age now though.

I had Vreds on the M roady and i prefer them to the PSS..... Less noisy and just as much grip, wet grip seems better.

+1 on the Vreds. Had them on my E85 Roadster and loved them. Stuck to the road like glue.
Have just put Michelin PSS on my E89 but they're not scrubbed in yet but expecting them to be as good as the Vreds.

What's the tcost of new boots on CSL wheels. I'm toying with the idea but 3 things put me off.

Ride quality, tyre cost and insurance premium addition.

With Goodyear Eagle F1s, I reckon a full set of new boots will come in at c.£750 fitted and balanced etc. Ride quality is firm, but not too bad. Tramlining is a little worse than standard 18s. Insurance premium wise, I pay a truck load anyway (due to my location, and a £3k claim 3.5 years back). I'm with Chris Knott insurance. Last year I was with Adrian Flux on a 'modified car' policy - didn't matter how many mods I declared, the premium stayed the same.

All that said - CSLs look effin brilliant, and turn heads everywhere. Despite the usual label of 'common' - other than the national forum meet, I've yet to see another Z4M with CSLs in the metal, but have seen plenty of Z4Ms. Not exactly common.... 8)

Have had Oem Conties, Vred S & PSS. Handling progresion &grip, have improved with each new purchase.

I've had 2 sets of vreds and then PSS on my old m3, the PSS have been noticeably superior in the dry than the vreds and also wear a lot less. I'll be buying another set for sure, well worth the small premium IMO.

Just ordered some OEM size (225/45/18 and 255/40/18) PSS' from Oponeo.co.uk

£604 incl delivery.

Am getting Munich Legends to fit them during my service in two weeks' time for £15 / corner

£664 all in fitted and balanced....chuffed

Suprised how far down Conti's are....
I`m not having had them on my zed and m3 because they just don't offer much grip when compared to the competition, don't get me wrong I didn't personally mind them but I can understand why they aren't that well rated by most.
