Hi you lot .
Been a member on here a while and posted occasionally, never formally introduced myself . The names Dave and I live in Hertfordshire.
Bought a zm coupe at at the start of April last year and im throughly enjoying every minute of ownership . As with all things car related things escalate quite quickly , and from thinking it would be good to have a nice car to drive at weekends I'm now in the situation where I won't be happy until I have a supercharged M
October last year I started replacing/upgrading bits .
New badges
Private plate (bought before I got the car lol)
New parcel shelf roller blind thingy
Stomung exhaust
Carbon front splitter
Clutch delay valve delete
Turner motorsport Rtab limiter kit
Rogue engineering rear shock mounts
Front and rear droplinks
Front strut reinforcement plates
Bilstein pss10 b16 coilovers
Various other suspension bushes
Vibratechnics race engine mounts
Michelin ps4
10mm spacers Front and rear
Csl geo setup
Eventuri intake
All work carried out by rennworks in stevenage , porsche and mclaren specialist, but the owner is an old friend who has always had an unhealthy obsession with bmw's . So knew it was in good hands.
I then decided I needed some more carbon under the bonnet, so purchased a rad cover and engine cover from skyer motorsport
At the same time I got a skyer carbon boot spoiler , which led me to convincing myself I needed a carbon roof. Geoff steel recived some money and I had said roof . Around this time I discovered that aeros were a necessity . Managed to find some on here from a forum member ( Street) thanks mate . Damaged but cheaper than normal . They would need a colour change anyway so having to repair them wasn't a problem .
Dropped all the body parts off at daytona coachworx also In stevenage . Side skirts not a problem . Decided to have the carbon roof and rear spoiler sanded and clearcoated to give them more depth . After alot of prep and 12 coats of clear all bubbles that some people had mentioned in previous roof threads are gone and the parts are all fitted . Along with new roof and window rubbers . Pictures attached (hopefully)
Discovered a blow in the exhaust . Appears as though there is a crack in the manifold right next to the flange where it joints the next section of exhaust. Bad times ,Looks like I'll have to replace it .
At the same time I'll be looking at high flow / race cats or decat centre sections possibly supersprint .
Next up needs to be an Ess supercharger and an AP bbk
My nan passed away a few months back , once her house is sold ill have the funds .
Being as she was German , I reckon a supercharger for my German car is what she would have wanted lol

Welcome to MC ownership.

I bought mine in December 2019 and have had a few bits done, but on nothing like the scale of yours!

Looking forward to reading about developments, and your plate works well.

Bang goes the weight saving then  Nice work looks great  . I had been undecided about the carbon roof until I saw Liam`s on his race car and the seed was sown and now I have seen yours it has started to grow :) I have subscribed to the thread to see what other mischief you are going to get up too

Welcome- good looking z (you even had a try to make it a proper one by taking the roof off :poke: )
Lol . Shame that targa removable roof thing never came to fruition . Best of both worlds .
Definitely considered a roadster, but wouldn't have worked with my long hair

Do it . You know you want to
Yeah 12 coats but I think they sanded it right back after the first 6 coats . Too technical for me , but something about a lots of pin holes .
Definitely gives it depth . Looked abit plastic before

I have a feeling that would have cost more than the roof but looks great

That is some impressive work that has been done, it looks fantastic, I like

You're not wrong mate :(
Standard roof had small patch of rust forming in the corner and rubbers were a bit knackered, so needed sorting anyway . My man maths convinced me the cost difference wasn't too bad

Such a special car. well done OP.
Cheers dude . Got a way to go to get near to yours though .
Can I pick your brains on the supercharger thing .
Looking at the ess vt 525 supercharger kit , hopefully around spring time . You seem like the type of guy that does your research before you buy . I Need to replace certain parts of the exhaust and I'm looking for the best setup for a charger . What are you currently running apart from the back boxes , as ive already bought them . Reading your previous posts , csl headers oem . Super sprint high flow cats (cell ?) . You still running standard xpipe ?

No probs at all.

im running the CSL header, Large bore s pipe, Xpipe, Vbanded.... i mostly run 100 CELL cats but have vband decats . The car seems to run better with the cats in, but it fails MOT every year on emissions , so i have to travel an hour out to get them HOT, rear boxes are RPI with silencer inserts. Ive been through it all with the S/C , all the stages available , parts upgraded, failure, parts that need to be changed on the car ( ALOT ). Its really important to make certain changes otherwise you'll have a car that cooks itself rather quickly.

ill be doing a detailed video on the car shortly on my YT channel so be sure to follow if you interested.

Thanks for the reply .
Follow you on YouTube and Instagram. Love the detaling vids . I've got a friendly mot guy so emissions should be cool. Vbanded sections are an amazing idea , you can chop and change to suit different situations. Clever . Have read through hours and hours of threads on here and z post about the superchargers , most of which you seem to be a part of .
Was looking at this kit https://esstuning.com/z4m-vt2-525-supercharger-system/
I'm hoping that the most recent kit ess do has delt with the problems you guys seemed to have at the beginning . That nice shiny catch can you have is no longer avaliable  so will have to get something else . Think theyve sorted the cooling now , bigger oil cooler and intercooler than the original kits . Was going to contact severn tuning to discuss pully upgrades and different fic injectors , and mapping . They seem to know their stuff .
When's the mag artical due out ? You aloud to say what mag yet ?
Look forward to the detailed video mate , your car is definitely one of the best I've seen and a good source of inspiration.

this looks awesome! What colour are your wheels? They look different to the standard silver, almost like a hyper silver/shadow chrome.
