Beer

Brown beer in the UK or Yellow beer in Germany

I'm with you on that!
Many a happy evening (those that I can remember), at Bruggen or Laarbruch supping Warsteiner.
There's a reason the RAF called it 'Wobbly'.

Starting Friday after a stressful day at the office with a double ipa. Cheers all

What's Double IPA ? :?

Its an Indian pale ale but usually 8% to 9% abv
Oh ok, but what's the 'double' bit ? Is it double fermented (once in the vat/barrel and once in the bottle) like a lot of Belgian beers ? Or is it 'double' strength ? :)

Hi double is an indication of the alcohol content so a session ipa is around 3.5% abv, a standard ipa is around 5 to 6%, a double usually starts at 8% and triple ipas start at 10% :)

Some good ones there, Major. What's the third? Looks like a collaboration.

A lot of interesting beers there, do they normally come in cans, though? No glass bottles?

Better for artwork aka hipster can game. I'll never get back the £4.90 (!) I recently paid for this very pretty can of pish -

It was a collaboration between Brewing company, Fierce beers, Fyne ales, overtone and vault city brewery. Blimey that's a lot

Brewer son hates glass bottles. UV light damages beer, so even though the bottles are tinted they still allow some UV in, cans obviously don't have this issue, as well as being easier to store/transport and more durable.

Good point, I hadn't considered UV damage.

I hadn't either!

But I much prefer cans anyway as you don't need a bottle opener and the empties can go straight in the recycling bin! (My Council doesn't collect glass for recycling). :(

OP you inspired me to open this. Mellowed quite a bit since a couple of years ago but still bloody tasty. Must be the UV. :)

The strong beers are nice but only in small volume.
There’s an app I have which indicates how soon after you can or should drive - it scares me how long it can take to get out of the system.

Scotland has the same low level now, so my trips over Hadrian’s wall and into Europe are no or very few before a driving day.
