Hello everyone! I have 2010 3.0is Z4 with 38.000 miles. Until now all good but last week experience have left with with bad taste for another Z4 due to dealer and whole BMW extended warranty bul****.
In short from driver side, above your head where two roofs join you will see various hydraulic liquid pipes/hoses, they are visible from inside when roof is closed and very visible as you operate your roof. Well one of them have been rubbing off against the closing mechanize ( it was not supposed to do so) and i got a nice hole from where hydraulic oil leaked damaging few interior items.
I took the car to dealer and they quoted me over £1200 to change that hydraulic hose, but the best part is that they told me that they contacted extended BMW warranty ( i have comprehensive level) who refused to settle the claim. BMW garage told me that this is clearly BMW issue and should not have happened as this part was not supposed to rub off metal mechanism and that due to that they will try to see and reduce the bill.
I called extended warranty company and to mu surprise they informed me that no claim was made, so i called back BMW service and confronted them... only then they told me that they made the decision in house " due to policy wording"
BMW service was giving me story how they sent picture of failed part to insurance company, how they tried all...how this should be covered by extended warranty and they feel for me so they are trying to reduce the bill..... I call this lying.. and i am more than disappointed!
What is your experience when dealing with similar issue with BMW service and BMW extended warranty? This issue is with Park Lane Battersea London repair service. Any advice would be helpful.
Thx
