I think these should be seen as a consumable and changed after 8 years as a precautionary measure. It's not that they cost a huge amount and they can be ordered over the bay for £80-£100 and swapped out in ten minutes.

Her ladyships 335x has the same battery type - as posted elsware it lasted two years or less :thumbsdown:

Yep - probably also explains the need for a new starter motor after 6 years!

I’ve just checked with pal I sold a previous E85 to and the original battery is still fitted - March 2004

I visited my pal last week and it seems my question re battery life was the kiss of death. The battery failed a week later!

Never mind 14years isn’t bad - So I didn’t offer a refund or compensation

Old thread I know... but finally - after 4 days left standing outside without my regular commute to keep it topped up, there wasn’t enough juice for a spark :|

That’s 12.5 years and 128k miles. How could I not buy another Bosch? Just hope they are making them the same way as before.

My Z4MR from 2006 is on its original with only 24K miles on it , only had it 12 months , don’t know if previous owner kept it on a charger or not ?
