You shouldn't need an AGM unit unless you have stop-start, a good non-AGM battery should be well under £100, keep away from cheap Chinese made stuff and any brand you have heard of are often made in the same factory e.g. Varta are Bosche etc![]()

a friend of mine also had similar issues with his Z4MR recently, he replaced the battery and still had problems.. turned out to be an old tired voltage regulator on his alternator... he got one off Ebay and fitted it, car was well after that...

I was only going AGM as it was what it came with from the factory.
Found a Bosch AGM one for £130 ish, so not too bad.
