Back in the fold!

Hi everyone.
After 20 months of being zedless, I took the plunge a few days ago and placed a deposit on another Z4 3.0 Manual. I must say, it's good to be back!

I collected it earlier and headed off in to the murk of autumn, roof up unfortunately, and it was such a good feeling to press the Sport button and hear the roar again.
The first Z4 I owned was two years old, with 17000 miles. This time 'round, having bought a house, I couldn't splurge a similar amount of money, so the 'new' Z4 is a six year old 60000 mile example.
I'm pleasantly surprised that it doesn't feel very different to the first car. I'd always felt that the Z4 had a fragility not exhibited by the other models. It seems, however, that if they're well looked after they age quite well.
This car is a decent spec', like the first. Professional navigation, Carver, Xenons, Bluetooth, Cruise, CD changer, PDC, 18" alloys, Heated seats, Wind deflector etc..
I'm going to search for a used MFSW for a few days and if there's no joy, I'll buy the retro-fit kit. I want to fit the Dension ipod interface as well.

It's great to see the regulars from months ago are still here, CJ, Wondermike et al.

This site has such a great community, it really adds to the ownership experience of the Z4. :driving:

Cheers!

Welcome back. A well specced 'older' Z4 that's been well looked after is a great proposition at the moment with prices taking their Autumn drop.

Thanks.
This one's Sterling Grey metallic with black leather and 108 alloys.
As with most used cars, a shopping list is being compiled. A replacement f/o/s fog lamp (crack in the lens) and rear LED centre brake light (usual problem) being most urgent.

One question, seeing as the parts department are closed today - on my last Z4, I had the Multi Function Steering Wheel controls added to the existing steering wheel. This cost in the region of £360 (supplied, fitted and programmed in), so I'm keen not to take this route again.
I'm sure I've read somewhere that the 2006 on Si steering wheel, with thicker rim and mulifunction buttons installed is available for £220. Is this correct, and would it fit a late 2003 model? I'm aware that the extra bit of wiring loom would have to be fitted. Thanks for any advice.

That's good to know, the latest one seems like a really good spec.

Welcome back
