Awful service history

Such a shame that a car like this isn't treated properly.

At £11k I'd still want a full Inspection II doing at the Indy of my choice before I parted with my cash.

Also strangle that the handwriting looks similar and no Sytner dealer stamps?

Has the SH book been lost and copied from invoices etc?

Three of the sigs look the same too but for different dealers on different dates. Sounds dodgy to me

If it was around 10-11k at most, with a FULL inspection 2 carried out by a dealer or respected Indy of choice and any/all problems fixed, then it maybe worth a punt. It looks good from the exterior, and if it's got some service receipts with it all might not be lost, it could just be the service books a bit of a mess. Let's face it, if it's made 60k and the engine sounds solid after an Inspection 2 with no clear issues, then it could be cheap entry into M ownership from someone.....
Obviously, re-sale will be consideration so might be better for some thinking of long term ownership, still not a complete right off for me if the price was right

Oh dear 48000 miles and nearly six years between oil changes, not good avoid at all costs.

All sound sense , i would want to know how many owners as in this case hopefully 3,4 or 5 in which case it would be very unlikely that all owners underserviced or abused it ? Still a risk that needs reflecting in the ££ handed over

Indeed, a good point. I guess the main factor is will a dealer realistically drop 3k or so from the asking price, probably not. More likely will wait for someone who's not very clued up and blag it with the service book.

If I was in that area I would probably go for a look out of interest, any obvious engine damage would become pretty quickly apparent from a cold start....engine knocking, cam's/followers worn, VANOS noisy. Would take diagnostics to plug in as well and see if any error codes were present, interrogate the running values with INPA etc. All the other mechanical bits like suspension/brakes would be highlighted in an Insp 2, as well as the cams could be inspected, see what the shim clearances are, if they've ever been done!
If the dealers not willing to do that he'll be keeping that car for a long time I would think!

Yep id have a sneaky peek myself if it was near home , most of the major biggies cannot be hidden
My honest thoughts are somewhere down the line a genuine car has lost its service book resulting in a lower sale price to some clever clown who produced a fake & hoped to make a few ££ , the question would be how far back was the bad turn ?
You never know , its possible BMW still have records of service work for this car ? If not then even with Ins2 carried out its the classic football with dogsh1t on  plenty of folks want to play but no-one wants the next kick

Although there are discrepencies and the book looks really dodgy it would be interesting how it stacks up mechanically against a properly maintained one.

It does look more and more like a patched together car, given the trully weird spec and dubious history.
