Avoid MJB hotel group in Norwich

I have to travel quite a lot for work - earlier this year I was unlucky enough to have booked accommodation with this company in Norwich, and it was so disgusting I had to arrange alternative accommodation. The matter has now been handed over to the County Court as they refused any requests of refunds, and then stopped responding to correspondence.

Here's the trip advisor review from June: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186342-d191765-r209002934-The_Beeches_Hotel-Norwich_Norfolk_East_Anglia_England.html

So i assume you didn't check TA before booking ? :D
i don't always believe the TA reviews but it would be hard to ignore the facts if you had read the previous few months comments

Yes I read that story about the bad review charge with interest. If hotels WERE allowed to charge for bad reviews this place would make a fortune! :D

I'm grateful to the like of TA especially when I think of some places I stayed at pre-TA. Must also say I do treat some reviews sites/opportunities with a huge pinch of salt. By way of an example just try to leave a negative review of Hermes and you'll see why. Just as bad try "On the Beach".

its wise to do so but those pics are shocking... is that blood on the walls?? :(

problem with TA is people often leave bad reviews because they are angry but dont when they are pleased. i also think that sometimes peoples expectations are very overinflated. if your paying £30 quid then don't expect the hilton. do expect a clean tidy room but maybe the bathroom suite might not match exactly or the carpet might be frayed a bit at the edge(but clean).

i stayed in a place in myanmar that was 10USD a night... i expected a s**t hole but didn't care for that night(3hrs of flights and 6hrs on a boat). it was as expected. but it was clean. the beds looked like they came from a prison, the linen was ok but was simple a sheet and slightly scratchy blanket. (who cares when it was 30C) i could have paid more for AC instead of a fan but they didn't have a generator so the power went off at 11pm :D. all i did was sleep for 2 nights eat their weird but tasty noodle-chilly-soup-broth-thingy for breakfast and shower in a cold shower. happy days.... now the 100USD a night place yangon i expected more which i got.

In a way I agree with google, regarding the right to be forgotten ruling. In the future it's going to be very difficult to get information like this unless you route the serarch via another country outside the EU.
